Tried googeling about, but cannot find a piece of software I read about some time ago, so help me out if you know where to find it.

It was a software that show information as seen in the passengercabin on real flights.
It showed map, distances, height etc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I think you're looking for this: http://feelthere.com/2005/map.html

I have it, but beware- Although it's AWESOME when it works, it's got some issues with the network edition that is hard to figure out, as in, I have a hard time getting it to connect over the network.

Thanks Tomlin. Thats the one.

I know about the free addon for Prosim, but this seems more genuine.
Might be a problem with FS flightplans.

There's one that I've used for a few years, it's free and open source, called FSXGET. It uses Google Earth as a moving map, and works pretty good. It's not quite like the one you wanted, but I like it and it's free. Worth a try if your interested.

Cheers

QuickMap from PM is bulletproof on a network and shows tons of other info ..even parking spots numbers when you arrive and zoom in. Can be interfaced too with buttons.
