Title: 737 Jump Seat Height Clarification
Post by: MistyBlue on August 26, 2021, 01:47:09 PM
Hey guys,

MarkusPilot's reference shows the 737 jump seat height is 600mm from the floor.  Maybe I'm overthinking it, but is that  from the floor to the base (bottom) of the seat, or to the top of the cushion?  I'd think it would be the base, but that seems a little high now that I've built the placeholder.

Make it so that you are comfortably seated. :D

Haha, true.  I guess in the grand scheme of things that's the most important.

But the bottom of the P-18 CB panel seems to exactly align with the base of the seat so there is some value in getting it close.

I did find a drawing of FSC's CB wall with some overall height dimensions.  Extrapolating out where the bottom of the P-18 CB panel should be, and assuming they got it right, it looks like it is also 600 mm so that's the seat base height number I'm going to go with  ;D

I read this as the jump seat you were wanting the measurements of, so I took the measurements accordingly.
I think you mean the Second observer seat.  The jump seat is fitted to all NGs, but the 2nd OBS seat is an option.
The base is always present, but the cushioning and restraints are not always there depending on airline options.
For example my airframe has a storage cupboard where the seat back would be, and emergency torches below the base.

Ether way, you can see from the measurements that the Second observer seat base is 540mm from the floor, and the jump seat is 450mm.

Mick, you are absolutely right.  I was talking about the Second Observer seat dimensions (learning something new every day), but I'm glad you provided jump seat height as well as I was planning on doing both.

Saving the day as usual.  Thank you sir!
