Title: Saving Flight in Unusual Attitude
Post by: ckovoor on January 11, 2011, 04:03:02 AM
Hi Luis,

I am beginning to use and understand your marvelous software.

Would there be any way to save a flight situation in other than a straight-and-level configuration: say, in a climb or descent, or in an unusual attitude? This would be so that I could test my ability to recover from an unstable situation by starting the simulator with the aircraft in such a position. The POSITION IN FS parameters do not seem to contain options to set pitch or bank or vertical speed.

If this cannot be done in iStation, I understand one could save the situation in FSX using the Save Flight option. In that case would there be any way of using iStation to remotely load this flight into FSX?

If these options are not presently available, would you consider introducing them in your next realease?

Thanks,

CK.

Dear Sir,

You are right.  Currently iStation does not include saving pitch or bank, nor vertical speed in the "Position in FS" window.

There is a work around for this though.  You can save the situation at a level and position of your choice, set the attitude (pitch and bank) with the Slew Mode.  I believe the slew mode can also be used to roughly set a falling or climbing condition.  I do not know if FSX saves attitude and vertical speed when saving a situation, I've never tried.

We will consider adding this feature to future revisions.

Best regards,
