Hi, I am having problems getting the remote PC start up/shut-down working. the istation runs on a client PC widefs and FSUIP being connected.

Well - it seems a bit tricky to implement. Maybe someone can shed a bit of light on how?
I am using PM CDU shutdown instead and it works flawlessly.
But it would be nice, but maybe not 100% necessary, to have a remote-start-up.

The way we implemented it (if I'm not misunderstanding what the topic of conversation is) is by having the remote startup scripts for the other PCs on the startup procedures list of the server. So you physically turn on the main computer, which in turn triggers the other PCs to turn on around relatively the same time. It also adds to the effect if you change the opening background images of the PCs to a company logo or your personal design, so during startup (till the PM visuals kick in) the MIP has the company logos.

Do you use "Wake on LAN" for the clients ? I have never managed to get that working.

What Jurgen is talking about is getting the Instructor Station (IS) working on a remote computer using FSUIPC and WideFS.
Did you install the IS program according to the instructions? Re-read the Remote Startup Portion that is used with IS on pages 15 and 16 of the instructions. Then you look at the bottom of the tab for the log to see what happens.
From instructions: "At the bottom part of the tab, there is a log window, in which different messages related to the Network and other important program actions are recorded. You can save this to a file (tech support) or discard if wished"
Also, if you're doing the wake-on-lan (WOL) functions right on the remote PC's. Check to make sure the Network Interface Card (NIC) has the correct settings turned on. And, remember there are settings in the BIOS to check, as well as that not all NIC cards have WOL functions. So, be sure they can support it first. Download FUSION WOL (free or demo mode) to check that the WOL works on the cards first, before trying to do it with IS. That way you know it's not your cards causing the problems...
@Bjorn, Efe is running what sounds like a batch file program to initate the WOL of the remote PC's. That is what IS can do; however, Efe what program are you using exactly to start the remotes? Also, Bjorn are you having the sim related programs (like PM, WideFS) start-up when you power on your remote PC's, by placing a copy of the program Icons in the Start-Up folder(s)? You could do it that way and then use a WOL program to start the remote PC's for you...

Thanks for the update - have d/l the WOL program now and will give it a try.
All my FS programs auto starts (via a batchfile) when the PC:s are powered on.
