Instructor Station - Luis Gordo

ISLOGO

What is Instructor Station ?

In flight simulation, an Instructor Operator Station (IOS) is designed to assist the instructor in controlling the simulation training environment and monitoring all aspects of pilot/crew performance in the simulator. The instructor can control, via this software, all functions such as aircraft position and systems, meteorological, environmental, and situational parameters.

The Instructor Station is meant to assist Aviation Professionals, Flight Simulation Enthusiasts and Home Cockpit Builders using Microsoft® Flight Simulator (FS) 2004™, FSX™ and ESP™, Lockheed Martin Prepar3D® and X-Plane®.

The Instructor Station allows setting the aircraft on an approach to a runway of choice under any weather conditions, start-up and shutdown network computers (fully customizable), program or set aircraft system failures at any moment, calculate the amount of fuel required for a flight and load it to the aircraft, record flight performance (approaches, manoeuvres, landings, take-offs, etc.) and plot it graphically, and many other things!

Compatible with all types of aircraft! It is also a great tool for anybody who wants to control the flight simulator externally.

Many features are also available for Project Magenta users (pmSystems, Glass Cockpit, CDU/MCDU, MCP/FCU), AST & FMGS JeeHell users.

Developed by a pilot, engineer & flight simulation enthusiast.

Hi Luis,

I had this issue previously and never really resolved it, but I did mention it. Is there a way to use IS in a dual NIC environment? I have a System Unit with dual NIC and on one NIC is my flight sim network System Units, and the other network is to the secondary Internet DSL line that I can use after Simlady goes to bed.

However, when I start IS I get the key not found message and it goes to demo mode. The only way around this is to switch off the second NIC card. I tried different keys before and IS gets confused on which NIC is tied to which key; therefore, there needs to be a way for IS to understand a dual NIC environment.

Too answer the question why a dual NIC in a flight sim network; I want the flight sim machines on the internal network and programs on this particular System Unit (with the dual NICs) to be able to pull data for the weather, VatSim and other programs that would otherwise slow down my sim network...

Once the software issue is fixed I can help you do this.

Hi BSD,

Sorry for the delay in my reply.  I have been busy getting my instrument rating... finally got it!  8)

As for the Dual NIC question, this is #1 on our issues to be fixed for the next version.  There are many others with the same issue.

As of now I can't provide a date for the fix, but can tell you its in the works.  In the meantime, I would be glad to assist if you need help with any KEYs.

Best regards,
Luis

Hi Luis,

Thank you for replying, as always, your support is top notch. Yes, it will be nice to see this Dual NIC feature added, even though IS does not require much in resources nor does it slow a single NIC...

Hopefully, the next update will be forthcoming really soon. Additionally, I also hope it will include the imperical set for weights, fuels and etc., using metric alone is too cubersome for pilots of the US because it is not the dominate system. Maybe, you can have the pounds next to liters for fuel and pax/cargo loads. It will certainly reduce my workload for preflight.
