First test with a fluo tube.
I tried LEDs lights packs, uneven , too dim and too bluish

This one is a tiny 24" 115V located behind the aft OVH above the door.($18)
1) best dome light so far
Lighting is even (no shadows) subtle but bright enough.
2) Tried it on a daylight flight. Much more realistic ambiance than a dim cockpit.
Curiously the inside visually takes precedence over the outside so that the feeling of banking the AC is there, even with my primitive one projector setup.
Last picture is normal dim cockpit without "daylight"
Will continue testing.

I think I will be adding some daytime lighting as well.
