Hi gents,

I'm disassembling  my 737 TQ for conversion.

I've already taken appart a lot of pieces.

For now I wonder how to remove the central axis of the throttle, speedbrake and flap levers.
It seems there is a central and big nut but it turns free and doesn't come up.

I know there are several models of TQ so here is a picture of mine and the nut I want to remove (red arrow).

For builders that already did it with this model of TQ, can you tell me how you did it ?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

The nut is called "castle nut"
On the other end of the axis there is another one, which must be held in position while turning the other. You can use 2 pliers for this job.
But as i recall, you have to first remove the flap lever assembly, trim chain sprocket. Behind these parts is the other castle nut located.

When the castle nut is removed, and you are about the take apart the axis and levers. Make a drawing, and document where each part is located.
On the axis there are numerous spacers and shims (0,1 inch thick)
The shims are there to make sure the levers are on the right position on the axis. The location of each shim can be different on every throttle.

Ive seen a detailed boeing document some where on the forum, which show the central axis with all spacers and shims

Ive recently tool apart 2 737-300 throttles.
All i can say is, take your time.

If give a call if you need any help.

Good luck,

Michael

Thank you Michaƫl,

Looking more precisely I found the two axis and will remove first the flap lever axis.

I take a lot of pictures during the dissassembling process to know how to reverse.

The Boeing ducment will be much appreciated if you can send it.

Thanks again and best regards,
