Hi Everyone,

What do you guys think about the following projector, I may purchase three of these for the flightdeck.

Canon REALiS WUX450ST Pro AV 4500L WUXGA Short Throw LCoS Projector

Anyone know of any better prices out there for this projector, best I've seen is $4,995.00?.

Thanks
Mike

Just some thoughts...   This looks to be quite a large projector, so you may want to explore the physical mounting considerations for the size screen you intend to use.   The throw ratio seems good for Sim use, but the contrast spec seems low.   Have you seen this projector perform in its HD mode?   The Optoma HD1080 might be another consideration, as it is only $700. with a smaller form factor.   Not being critical, but that is one expensive projector.

Full-scale 737-800 Sim; P3d v5.3x with Sim-Avionics (two computers), FDS MIP,  FlightIllusion hardware.  3-Optoma ZH406ST Laser HD projectors, with 4K inputs from a single Nvidia RTX-4090 GPU (new), resulting in a 210 deg wrap-around display.  6dof Motion Platform using BFF 6dof motion software, driven by a Thanos Servo Controller to 6.2 KW Servos, Lever type actuators.

I second Mike on the Optima GT 1080, it has been developed for gamers, in particular shooters and racers. Ideal for Flight Sim.
If you want to spend money, look at the new ACER Predator projector,  you still will get all three for the price of one Canon.

You cant even compare the Optoma to the Canon. You need to see the image in person to appreciate honestly.
Ive used both many times on installations, and yes the Optoma is great value...no doubt.
Though its like comparing a Mercedes to a Hyundai. They both have four wheels, but there's a lot of technology and quality differences between them.
Yes Mike is correct about mounting, the Canons needs special consideration due to size and weight.

Hi Everyone,

This is the only video I could find on the Cannon 400ST, I would imagine the 450 would be a little brighter... The video looks real good to me:

Maybe a shelf will be required if I'm unable to find any ceiling mounts.
