Title: Looking for FDS Clock Bezels
Post by: Ed on October 06, 2020, 10:51:29 AM
Hello Everyone,

Looking for FDS clock bezels as my second hand FDS MIP didn't come with them. I'm just putting out the feelers in case some one has upgraded their clocks and have the dummies lying around collecting dust.

Hello Ed,

Yes...  I have the original FDS "dummy" clock Bezels.  I purchased the FlightIllusion Boeing Clock set, but I kept the FDS dummy Clocks.  These have the BackLighting plate.

You can have them.  Just pay for shipping to your location.  Let me know.

Mike

I went a different way... those timers work as a clock, a chronometer and a count down for IFR.
Fits perfect size-wise with the 737.
Bulletproof CAD 24.00 on Amazon.
I bought 2 in 2018, still ticking on the same batteries.

Hey Ed,

Jack has a great idea!  I suggest that you do what he did, in order to have a functional Clock/Timer.  Here is the link on Amazon:

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your great ideas and comments. I think Mike's FDS clock dummies would work best for what I am planning. I have mounted a small display behind the clock opening on my FDS MIP. With Prosim, I can drag a working clock onto that display. I just need the back plate and the bezel face that the dummies will provide for controlling the clock. Hope this makes sense. Waiting to hear back from Mike.

Hello Ed,

OK...   It sounds like you have a plan for your Clock module setup.   Per my promise, I'll give you the FDS Dummy Clock modules.  I only ask that you pay $25 to cover packaging and shipping.  If you are located outside the United States, the shipping cost will be considerably higher.  In any case, give me a call to make arrangements to get these to you.

Just an update on the FDS Dummy clocks I received from Mike. Capt side installed. Need display for FO. As you can see, these will be 4 button clocks but I'm fine with that as I found I seldom used all the clock buttons anyways. I printed out buttons as the originals didn't allow enough spacing between the switches and the face plate. Also made a clear plate out of plexi for mounting switches and a screen cover. There is a picture of the Prosim clock, but note that it looks off center but that's because the main plate is just sitting loosely over the display.
