Title: P3D v5 sound files - delted file in addon, but still plays -- SOLVED
Post by: navymustang on December 05, 2020, 05:07:40 PM
I am modifying the sounds for my cockpit. I wanted to silence the switch sounds. I replaced one with the same name but all silence instead of the switch sound. I shut down P3D, I shut down all AI traffic, even rebooted my PC, but that switch still makes a sound.
When I completely remove the sound I get an error that it can't find it. So I believe I am replacing the correct sound. Same for the DC Power sound, and one other. Is there a cache that I am not aware of, another location where the sounds are specified. I've read the entire SDK for sounds and don't see a thing.
This happens to be the CeraSim UH-60L

OK - bad on me, turns out I forgot that some switch sounds are organic to P3D and located in the Sound folder at the root of P3D and are also used by addon aircraft, even though they have their own sound folder.  TUrns out that CeraSim used an XML sound gauge and it errors out when the file is not found, unlike P3D which jsut keeps on going when a file is not found.
