All,

Bob and I were talking and thought it might be a good idea to get a one-stop-shop of all the ongoing projects here at Cockpitbuilders.

If you have a pit or not a pit, time to show us your set-up!!!!!

Please post the following

  • Simulation Platform
  • Aircraft Type
  • Software Used
  • Hardware Used

Picture or pictures of your setup and also a link to your build thread if you have one!

Let's see how many pits we have out there.

Well, I'll fire the first shot...

Using FS9 no intention to switch to FsX
PM suite ,for now, running super smooth on 5 regular PCs .only one projector
Sim (previous and actual) :all FDS . Shell and  liners, Ace yokes, 787 type home built throttle.

Hi Guys,

Mine is similar to Jacks,

7 computers, PM suite, One beamer (BenQ WXGA), Ace Yoke, no shell or liner, B737 non motorized TQ, FDS CDU with color screen, CP Flight MCP/EFIS and MIP737 card, Poldragonet Overhead with OC instruments, Full Radio bay - mix of CP Flight/OC,
MIP w AFDS and six packs/ radio bay / engine fire bay / glare shields are self made.
Flight Illusion flap gauge/break gauge, Intercom, EFB (Electronic Flight Bag), Buttkicker Gamer.

Flight Model in FS9 / PM is a modified Opensky B738.
"Dispatch" program = TopCat.  TSR Autobrake Pro installed.  SA_WXR weather radar.
Active Sky weather. REX clouds.  Ultimate Terrain ground.

Runs FS9 flawless on the C2D and Intel SSD equipped FS computer.
However the SSD did not do very much difference from my "old" WD Raptor, but it starts WIN "in a blink".
Will not "upgrade" to FSX in a loooong time  ;) , mostly because lack of FSX Scandinavian airport scenery.

As seen in the picture - at the moment a HUGE front view, but the front windows will restrict it when in place.

well, here is a look at mine so far.. Just getting it all back together and waiting for the TX heat to break (any week now). Not much has changed on the build side of things.

•Simulation Platform:  Xplane and FS9-10
•Aircraft Type:            737
•Software Used           Own
•Hardware Used          Mostly phidgets, trying a few other interfaces to mix in as well.

You guys make my heart lift at seeing such fantastic projects and at the same time fall to the floor at knowing I'll NEVER have the room to create such beautiful works of art.
I work away - slowly but surely at creating my ATR72 but enjoying the fun of moving forward just an inch each day I complete a small task.
I content myself with flying the ATR using my scaled down test panels and believing that someday in the not too distant future, I will look up and see my MIP and pedestal together with a couple of out of the windows dispays all finished and working.

MLeavy737

Mikeh,
you will get there! Thats the way most of us start these projects, small scaled down test panels and Project boxes with switches and lights all over them :) I still remember my EPIC test box for those of us who remember those! lol

My sim career has progressed through two different apartments and it continues now in its second house. Only Reason i have room now is because i moved to TX where everything is bigger including garages :)

Keep at it, like you said you will open your eyes oneday and be sitting in a pit!

Here is my 737NG Sim, currently using Prosim 737, Mix of real 737 parts, FDS, Innovative, and a home built shell.   FSX and PMDG are the software in use.  Lots more work to do but it is very flyable.

I wonder what are neighbors think when they see us dragging parts of airplanes home and putting them in our garage and basements!      ;D

Current Sim is a hardware mongrel with Sim-Avionics software and FS9.

Latest achievement was making a real world, aft overhead LE Flaps module work

Here is mine too...

I have ordered a dual linked yoke from ACE and after receipt I am planning for a new-bigger-better-wider cockpit base to host both dual linked yokes and a 737 FDS shell which is my next order...

For those of you that bought old cockpits, just how much did they cost you? I'm thinking megabucks here.

I got my Beech 99 for Free, But I had to take the entire aircraft all 45' wide and 47' long.  So basically they just wanted to get rid of it.

nope :)

But dont be fooled, shipping was nearlly 1 grand and that was done on the cheap as u can tell.

my 75 was worth 2.5k cause it was missing yokes, TQ, MIP, PED and overhead plastic trim, a good one will set u back 5 to 7k gbp, i finf the 73 and 74 is about the same price, 737NG your looking at the best part of 15K

DOnt know about the ATR 72 though, never seen one of those scrapped in the UK before

There was a 42 I could have had but I just don't have the space or the money... I'm hopefully getting some bits off it though heh... tiny, tiny bits.

My homebuilt cockpit will have to do... but I can dream.

•Simulation Platform: CaptSim 727
•Aircraft Type:            727-200
•Software Used          PM Systems
•Hardware Used         Original & Phidgets so far

Haven't done anything for some time.  Throttle is in the house and the overhead is just about done.  I also have the APU panel and some other parts.  Only missing a couple of small panels for the interior.  Yokes were redone by AHPS and have all seat cushions and covers.
