Title: Hello from Indiana
Post by: al23 on April 15, 2018, 11:48:21 AM
New to this forum. Have always enjoyed flight simulators since MSFS 95. Lately came back and have seen a lot of new and exciting changes since. Looking to build a desktop simulator. I have some uncertainties about using IO cards although I'm pretty handy with carpentry and basic home electronics. Hope to learn a few things here and there

What part of Indiana are you from?

I apologize on behalf of others as usually this group is more inviting and welcoming to new members.

I am in South Bend and you are welcome to stop by and fly my sim and talk shop.

Rob

Welcome Alfred. Glad to have you here. IO is a huge thing and there are so many ways you can go. First bit it, what sim are you going to use?

Rob, From Fishers, northeast side of Indy. That is nice of you to offer. I will have to plan on that one of these days on top of my busy schedule.
Bob, I'm using p3dv4 as transition from FSX was easier.  Thinking of starting with Leobornar cards or Arduino and learn from it.

Hi Alfred,

Welcome to the party of Cockpit Builders! It's a great place for all things flight simulation and too be a part of...

I am glad to see Rob invited you to see his sim and you should take him up on it. There is nothing better then a hands-on experience when first starting out. Plus, he can help in person with all those questions you'll have soon.

Even though you and I have met through PM's earlier, it's good too meet you. And, hopefully it'll be in person someday...

John

Just so you have an idea of what I have (just a simple 737-300) plus you are only a 2 hour drive away. :)
