Title: WideView weather issue - how to propagate weather in multi-client configuration
Post by: navymustang on April 21, 2015, 11:30:31 AM
We are using WideView to control the visual client computer from a host. (P3D on both) But we have shut down the weather update function because it causes a terrible stutter at each iteration of the update cycle (typically polls every 15 seconds).  Is there a way to have iStation update the weather directly via FSUIPC on each host and client without relying on WideView weather engine to propagate the weather?
The real solution would be for WideView to only push weather updates when changed at the IOS.  Not on a periodic basis.  Any solutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

For WideView weather transfer to work you need to install and configure "FS Real World Weather".  FSGRW transfers weather independent of WV via a "network bridge".  Synchronization and smoothness is excellent!

Fred - did you mean to say that an alternative to WideView is the FSrealWX product?  Because WideView does have a built in weather engine that propagates weather to the other P3D clients, it just does not work well for me.  I just downloaded FSrealWX and will review.
Thanks,
Jim

Fred - just installed and it is a totally standalone application that can't be run within P3D or from an instructor station (IOS) application.  That makes it not useable in a training environment.

Navy Mustang..

To be sure....You want FSGRW (FS Global Real Weather).  You may be looking at a different program.
