Instructor Station with Sim avionics

Hi,

I have a 737 flightdeck running on Sim Avionics over a network.

I am looking to add instructor station to the set up - would it work over a network and bearing in mind I am using S-A?

Hi Jon,

Sim Avionics runs on a WideFS based network, so it is perfectly compatible with iStation.

Please test for yourself using the demo.  Let me know if you happen to have any issues.

Beeing in the process of choosing the software for my 777 home-cockpit (either SimA or PM) the answer would interest me most : one of the few things that actually prevent me from immediately going the SimA way is the absence of instructor station, and more precisely failures handling.
I see that Instructor Station seems to handle more specifically PM's failures, and only for B737 and A320. What would I be able to use, with a SimA 777 ?
Is it possible to generate a random rate of failures over time ? And to select to which systems it would apply ?
How complex are the failures that your instructor station could generate for a SimA 777 ?

Hi Nephi,

There is a growing interest in the SimAvionics community for an Instructor Station.  I am considering making the Instructor Station compatible with certain characteristics of Sim-A.  In the process of looking it through.

As of now, only "general-type" failures can be triggered if using Sim-A.  I will post any progress made to this respect on our website and here in the forum.

Random failures are something that we are considering for future versions of the Instructor Station (don't know if it will make it to the next version yet!).  Please try the demo to see if it suits your needs.  We are quite confident that even if no Sim-A specific features are in place, you will like iStation well enough!

Windshear is something you can already create in iStation, by setting windshear strength, wind gust and wind upper altitude on the Environment Page (WXR settings).
