Seeking recommendations for providing mechanical tension

Very different on my TQ...which is a Boeing 7 2 7.

My late father and late uncle flew 727s and my surviving uncle was a mechanic and worked on the 727.  He told me earlier that some later model 727s had this auto-deployment.  My TQ doesn't.

See this video...fast forward to around 3:53.   The aircraft touches down and the captain 1)  Pulls the speed brake handle aft (all spoilers go up on each wing) then 2)  Immediately selects reverse thrust.

I've been told this was standard procedure.
