Title: several views/machines and xsquawkbox
Post by: Erlend on July 08, 2013, 11:08:27 PM
I have done some tests with 3 views/machines and discovered that when connected to Vatsim with Squawkbox, I will only see other planes in the view on the machine connected. I can obviously connect with only 1 machine at time, but how to display other planes in the other views. Have anyone come across a solutions for this?

best, Erlend

Hi Erland,

If you are talking about using WideView (3 machines) 2 Synched to the main pc in slew mode, I am pretty sure I have heard of this issue before.  When I first heard about it, it was the cloud generation in FS9/X that would show you in a cloud on one scree, but when you flew through the cloud it wasn't there on the side windows.  I presume the same is true for Traffic.  Generated via SB or other application.

We use to many years ago use a little program that would add SB Traffic to your TCAS, but I am pretty sure that isn't required anymore.

Luciano Napolitano is the name of the man who created Wideview, and he has a module now called Wide Traffic.

http://www.wideview.it/wideview.htm (http://www.wideview.it/wideview.htm)

Widetraffic, available for FSX and ESP, ensures AI and multiplayer traffic synchronization throughout the local area network, so the same airplanes fly at the same time and place on every computer. Since version 1.2, Widetraffic synchronizes also the airport vehicles and, thanks to a distrubuted client - server processing, improves the performance of Flight Simulator when lot of AI Aircrafts are displayed.

This will sort your issue..

*EDIT, Just saw you are using X-Plane- This may not solve your issue after all Sorry*

Make sure the squawk box plugin is on all clients and also that xpuipc is on all clients

Hi Rhys
Have you actually got this to work?
I have tried a lot off different scenarios, with and without XPUIPC/XwideClient and Xsquawkbox.
If I have Xsquawkbox connected on my main PC, and removed the xsquawkbox plugin in the other pc's (left and right view) I will se the Vatsim plane normally in the main PC (forward view) but in left and right view the Vatsim plane appears as a regular AI plane, not quite accurate placed and with a randomly different heading.
If I have Xsquawkbox plugin installed in all pc's, I will se no Vatsim plane in other than the main (connected) pc. XPUIPC/WideClient have no effect on this.

I got a solution for this from chris k on another x-plane forum.

You need to enable Xsquawkbox "proxy" function on the main system, and point the squawkbox software on the slave systems (server address) to use the IP of the master XSB machine in the LAN.

That should synchronise the Secondary displays.

IT Works!  :) e
