It is my pleasure to officially announce our participation in Worldflight for 2014.

The official name for the team is "Cockpitbuilders Worldflight Team USA". CALLSIGN: DELTA209 Departing on November 1st 2014 at 2300hrs (UTC) The Full Motion 737 Simulator of Sam Llorca will host 15 Crew for 7 Days making flights 24 hours a day. The purpose of this event is to raise money by flying around the world (virtually) for our local charity. Just as we did Last year we have again selected  the "All Children's Hospital" in St. Petersburg, Florida.

To find out more, Please visit http://www.worldflightusa.com for more details.

NOTE:
This year we will do things a little Different.  If you would like to be a part of the flight CREW, you will be required to prove you have made a donation "BEFORE" your name will be added to the SCHED.  This will eliminate the issues we had last year with people cancelling after signing up.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  More information to follow over the next week.

Best regards,

Hi Trev -

I just made my donation to kick things off here.  How do we provide "proof" to you?  My transaction ID is 36715.

Regarding the website.....The "Countdown Clock" still shows WorldFlight 2013 with "0" hours to go on most tabs.  The only tab where it shows updated to 2014 is the "Media" tab.....however the countdown readout there is garbled.  Perhaps all that is still a work in progress on your part.

If i book my flight for wednesday, then leaving that sunday (East coast local time) I should be ok?

Flight ops (read:"Wife") has cleared me for takeoff, so to speak, so i will again be in Sarasota FLA for the event.

REALLY looking forward to this!

And... How do we make donations?

Fred and Ray.  Congrats on joining us.  I am still waiting to hear for the new link for donations this year.  The one on the site doesn't let anyone in the world send donations.  Only those in the USA.

Fred, you could email me your receipt if you would like. (PLEASE BLACK OUT ALL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IF YOU WOULD LIKE)

The New link should be available soon, that's why I didn't post it, as Bob is the Contact that deals with ACH.

LOL As for the countdown clock..  I know it is a problem for me, I am fighting with it and it is winning :)

The Countdown Clock issue has been corrected, YIPPEE.  I am going to create a NEW WF2014 Forum, and we can start the chatting.  I have already began to fill in the schedule.  Just need the updated Links for donations.

Hi Trevor,

Since the international donations aren't up yet, do you want a flight booking confirmation that I'm going?

Sure that will work, but I will also require a copy of your receipt as soon as you make your donation.  Just email it :)

Thanks Bud.

Hi Trevor, noticed on your WF page you're listing other teams but have the Perth Flightcity 777 listed.  The Perth team is now flying the B738 and the website is www.worldflightperth.com.au

Cheers and good luck for your team,

Ken.

I will make the change tomorrow. And good luck to you as well.

Thanks for fixing the link Trev, much appreciated.  As for Dean he comes to training each week wearing that damn outfit, it's annoying but we humor him anyway.  Not a bad pilot though.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! If you plan on getting a ride to the event from the airport and back, you will need to fly into SRQ, Sarasota Bradenton Airport. This will be the only airport we will be able to provide rides for this year...

Sam Llorca

Is all good Ken, a bit of humor here! We'll done guys, cheers

KyleH

LOL  I think that is because we are 12 hours behind Perth Time "they are in esscense 12 hours ahead of us"  Least that's what I figured out when I saw that issue.  Either way, the difference is 12 hours LOL. And our server time may be off by 12 hours LOL...  Pm/Am

Hey it should be close LOL

That is correcrt Trevor. Weave on Saturday afternoon and at the same time they will be leaving on Sunday morning.

KyleH

But if everyone is departing at the same Zulu time, the clocks should match. Unless they are just counting down to the day and not the actually start time.

You are correct, but if you look at their site again, you will see it is set to Ausi time...lol

Trevor Hale

Ours is set to countdown to 2300z time. I can't speak to theirs lol

We're counting down to when the beers cold!

Actually you could be right, I didn't really think about it when I set it up, just told it our local departure time which for us is 0700 Nov 2 but that probably won't work on an international level.  I'll set it to Zulu to bring it into alignment with all.

Kennair

Hmm ok, what am I missing.  Compared clocks and they are in sync, in fact when I set it to Nov 1 @2300 it was 16 hours out!  Setting to Nov 2 @ 0700 (local time) brings it into sync with yours.  Must be something to do with how the app references your local PC clock?

To be honest all the timezone stuff really gives me a big headache lol. You should have seen me change the local times on the route excel sheet.

UTC time - (5/24) = Est. Lol

But kens 100% right. Counting down to the beers cold lol. Cheers.
