LOL.. hilarious..  Well actually, until I figure out how to post my 2 short videos, you guys will just have to wait.  But I will tease you with this much.  I am still going through with the project.. but after seeing the aircraft, it needs a lot of work, and we are trying to locate some missing peices.  ie. (Left yoke, Left rudder Peddles, and Left Seat) ROFL.

Things are in a challanging state, but I think we can make it work.

(Videos to follow, as soon as I figure them out)

PS. (Was so excited to see everything only took like 1 minute of video, no pictures and was inside the cockpit for 20 minutes) I guess I was just a little excited.

More soon.

Oh, in that case, just ask any 5 year old kid down the street. They should be able to help.

On another note, that is one hell of a big matzo ball of a project based on the condition of the interior. Whoever ripped the inside apart like that should be sent to the gallows and I'll volunteer to trigger the trap door :D

just add the youtube button in the forum....

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=936

thats the same as our Ebay Mod, but that mod only allows you to post the videos using the video number.  Also, its for RC3 we are using RC4..  But thanks for checking.

Still doesn't allow me to upload my video to youtube yet LOL.  I will figure it out.

Yes, the aircraft has been torn to $hit.  But I am sure I can put it back together.  Least the parts I want..

Anyway, we will see how it goes.

Hey Trev

One thing that comes to mind is, dont allow yourself to be pressured into going forward with this project unless you are getting that frame/components for very cheap. I think that in the long run, it may actually be easier to just purchase turbo prop panels and components than put the effort into what will be required for this project considering the condition it's in. However, if you do decide that it is what you want, then I know you will over come it and come out on top. Put it this way- I was very excited for you until I saw the inside. Then I was dissapointed for you once the condition was revealed. :-\ .

LOL, Eric Thanks!  I agree that caution must be observed with the condition of the aircraft..  I do realize the work that will need to go into this. I can get a fully together beech 99 for around $500,000.00 LOL

Let me clear the air here.

I am not paying $0.01 for this aircraft, and I have someone to haul away the parts of the aircraft that i don't want to the scrapper for again not $0.01

Any of the spare parts that I don't use (Switches, Wemac Eyeball vents, etc) that I may sell, will allow me some fluff money to replace the gear handle and various other important panels.

If any of you remember my Falcon 900EX that I built.  I made all those panels myself, and I might just do it again, especially because I have the real ones to get the measurements from now.

All this thing is going to cost me is the gas to go pick it up, and the time involved in cutting her up.

Hopefully that makes people feel better :)

Its a fair point Eric brought up, so easy to let the giddy feelings run away with you, but for free you cant complain :)

Its sort of the same scenario with my sim, i got my 75 nose for next to nothing, but as far as nose ends go its not the best in the world, it was sat on the aircraft for 4 years in a field uncovered, then removed and stored nose up uncovered again for another 2 years before the original owner got hold of it, there are no yokes or TQ with or MIP (i have all ready) and parts of it have been going walkies over the years so not much left, however it has all the things that i cant/be bothered with making myself, dzus rails, linings tillers landing gear glare all the structual stuff and what is missing can be found very easy for the 757.

Only outstanding issue is moving it from its current home 300 miles north to its new home, obviously its a large lump and the quotes i have got for moving it take the piss somewhat, 2000gbp, yeah dream on! but the fuel costs for the journey is not cheap either and the regulations for moving it on the roads over here are a nightmare, but i have a cunning plan, actually i dont, be honest i dont have a clue, large trailor at the stroke of midnight is what im thinking :)

But, no matter how you look at it building a sim is a lot of work, retrofitting a dead plane or buying a kit no matter what its a lot of work, but is that not part of the fun, best thing is get her home, strip it bare, sandblast it, jet wash it, TNT it until sparkling then re build 1 piece at a time, thats my plan anyway.

But seriously Trev, hats off to you, this is going to be an interesting journey for you, cant wait to see how you get on, in fact, put a webcam up so we all can watch!!

But mostly, and i think i speak for all of us here, glad to see you back!!

I would say then that the price is right. I was thinking earlier that your ex felt sorry for having cleaned you out and left you some money to buy something that would keep you occupied for a long, long time so she would never run into you again  ;D

Since you got it for nothing, you should perhaps consider turning it into something like this. Now, that would be a really nice project don't you think?

I couldn't agree more.  even when I first saw it, I thought this sucks..  There is no way I can do this. but after watching my videos over and over again. really, it isn't that bad.

Like somone once said in here before..  I have been building (Building) sims for almost 12 years..  I have had 4 and am on my 5th.  I have built things myself and had no issues.  So if I am in need of using the real throttle quad, as the exterior shell of something I build...  why not.  Or if I need to recover the glareshield (which I have) but has a few tears in it why not.

I like at (Michael carter) Boeing Skunk works.  He had far less to work with then what I am getting and look at the amazing job he has done.

I mean really..  I am only using this shell for the "Nostalgia" or the base to add to my build.  (saves me buying one from FDS or Building another wood one)  All the interior liners can be fixed, and I can make my own panels to fit over the broken ones.

Even the MIP, is ther and can be used as a template to cut out a new one in MDF for G1000 or Glass instruments.

But Eric and Phil have a valid point. Don't waste a ton of money on someone elses junk.    What frosts me, is some guys will get given something like this for free, then sell the parts at the outragous prices on ebay that we have all seen before.

Eric, Your a smart man, and thanks for getting me to "Check Myself"

I'd be doing the same thing.  Better to beg for forgiveness then ask for permission, besides..  chances are the cop that might stop you will be interested in checking it out, when you offer him a free ride when it is done LOL.

LOL, I tried this with the Girlfriend..  It didn't go over well.  Wanted to move the Oldest daughter to the basement, and have the plane stick out of the side of the house from her old bedroom..

Girlfriend said over her dead body LOL..

Thats ok though, I have a garage LMFAO.
