Curious for you guys that have multiple projectors what you use to color calibrate them?  There are a lot of devices out there so was interested in your opinion.

Working on getting my three 1080gt Darbee's mounted this week and working on the projector screen in anticipation of getting them working within the next month.

Baby due at the end of June so I need to bump my work into high gear if I want to be flying before then!

I bought a spyder5 elite a while back but haven't had the chance to use it.

It's supposed to be able to handle multiple projectors.

Maybe I'll carve some time out tonight and give it a whirl.  More to follow...

Curious if you got a chance to try it out?

Unfortunately, I have not.  I've been swamped with family visiting.  Still at the top of my list and I hope to get to it next week.  I had a few minutes in the sim but got sucked into troubleshooting something else

Sorry.  More to follow

Hi Warren,

Any movement on the projector calibration ?
I'm also interested to know about your Spyder Elite or an equivalent suggestion.
I also know it well getting distracted by a myriad of issues in our sims.

Cheers
Mark

Distraction is the easy way to put it.  I've had a steady stream of visiting family over the last three weeks, and I'm wrapping up the Master's Program over the next 16 weeks.

I've fired the sim up once in that time.  I have to do this calibration at night to ensure complete darkness which seems to be the time I find myself committed to family time.

I do apologize for keeping everyone waiting.  I can understand the frustration.

Nothing wrong with using old fashioned pair of "eyes"  :)

I think Nat hit the nail on the head... at least when it comes to multiple projectors.

So, I skipped GOT last night (no spoilers, please) and played around a bit with the Spyder5Elite.  Nice little package!

Setup was pretty straight forward.  You need to install it on the Image Generating system.  It didn't have a setting for Optoma 180GT Darbee so I selected Other - and then added it.

I reset my projectors to defaults and I kept everything as recommended.

Then I just clicked through the screens following the instructions.  Pretty straight forward right to the end.

It went through its process until I heard a chime...  then I waited.  No visual cues that the process was over but after there were no changes to the screen for a few minutes I hit ESC and then I was staring at the "save" dialog.  I saved it as "Optoma 1080GT-C" for the center channel.  I then got a screen with a bunch of pics that allowed me to see the difference between calibrated and uncalibrated.   A marked difference!  Then I realized this isn't going to be as easy as I thought...

With my setup, all  three projectors are one wide image so there is no way (short of changing my display settings to three images) of calibrating all three projectors...  I tried to restart the process and keep the window on the left projector but it kept pulling the active window to the center.  Going back to Nat's comment, I'm not sure the image across all three is off enough to risk messing up all my settings forcing three separate windows.  Maybe some other day..

Regardless, my projectors are pretty close and dragging the comparison window across the projector span showed the difference between pre-calibration and calibration.  Luckily the color across my three projectors was pretty close to start with.

Here's some pics:
