Title: b737 fire handle size ?
Post by: andycyxu on October 21, 2015, 10:42:42 AM
if anyone has the fire panel of b737 would you mind posting the size of the handles?
Width x Length x Height of the actual handle only so lets call it the box,
I would like to make my own as the ones that are available for sale are just priced astronomically high so i decided I'd try and play with some raisin and make my own, all though I'd would like them to be as close to the actual size of the true thing as possible I will gladly buy the panel itself but the handles.. well even though they are actual switches ... c'mon 300 EUROS !!!  :o

The idea is to make a black cast with LEDS inside the cast, then once somewhat cured slap a "sticker" with corresponding number/lettering and pure thin clear layer .. sound simple enough ... well maybe LOL

but anyways I would appreciate if someone can measure the size of the handle and share the info, in millimeters is fine more accurate then inches IMO  :P

Thanks
Andy

I made my own set at one point (Then sold them of course)

I used 1/4" thick red plexiglass for the red caps, and this site to custom-make the lettering on top:

I still have about 1 square foot of that red plexi.

Hi Andy

The handle section is 50.8mm high, 20.4mm wide and 20.2mm thick overall.

The bottom black section containing the bulbs is 12.7mm thick , and the red lens on top is 7.5mm.
