Title: ACE 737 Pro Yoke stab trim switch issue help needed
Post by: dornier on December 23, 2018, 05:53:51 AM
Hi,
I'm using an Ace 737 Pro Yoke and all of a sudden when I select nose up trim, the switch doesn't release.  Pitch trim runaway occurs unless I select nose down trim.  Anyone else experience this?

Is it easy to take apart the switch assembly?  I noticed about 4 screws on the side.  Anything I should be aware of our look out for?  Any thoughts on what I need to fix?

I'm using Prosim.

Thanks,

George

Hi George,
Before you rip things apart, there may be another suggestion.
Are you controlling the trim from FSUIPC?
Have you gone into windows controller settings and verified the switch is actually stuck in the on position.  If the red circle stays lit or not?
You may not need to pull the thing apart, if you can fix it through uipc.

Hi,

I'm using Prosim for controller operations.  After analyzing the issue, it appears that the actual switch mechanism automatically centers if I select nose down trim, but when I select nose up, the switch has no centering spring tension to push it back to center.  Wonder if anyone knows how the mechanism works before I take it apart.  Is there a spring that pushes it back to center?  I hope it's an easy fix, but I'm sure it will be pain!

Thanks,

George

Well, looks like I need some help from the group.  I took apart the stab trim switch assembly and immediately spotted the issue.  Please see the PDF file I put together.  I would love feedback from the group as to my options and any ideas on how to fix this issue.  Thanks!
