The grip assembly for the 109F/X is done!

The edge lit panel for the left sub-panel turned out really well:

Today I was able to complete the wiring harness that brings the wiring to the front of the cockpit from the db25 connector on the gimbal mounting plate.  I had a horrible headache that drove me out of the shop.  With any luck I'll get the new harness terminated and get the Plasma v1 I have hooked up to do initial control tests.

Stunning Gene, I always love seeing progress of your projects.  I always seem to get good ideas from watching you.

Thanks for showing us.

Thanks Trev.

If anyone out there wants to see a cheap way of building a single stick gimbal, check out http://www.geneb.org/pitkit/jentron_mk2.  It's very easy to build and can be done with nothing more than a drill and a hacksaw.

Your panel looks great Gene and I love the way your stick is turning out.  I am sure this is going to be a lot of fun to fly!

The lighting experiment was a total disaster. :)  I'll have pics of it soon.

I've gotten a little bit more done, but it'll be a few days before I post new pics.

This thing is a mess. ;)  I tried using 180 degree FOV "warm white" LEDs for the panel illumination and ended up with a pile of hot spots because the LED isn't long enough to penetrate the mounting panel deeply enough to deliver all the light it produces.  That and ever one of the damn things (14) are mounted on a 3/8" square circuit board.  ::)

Today I went out to the shop for a short time.  I got a 9 wire harness made up that will connect to the rudder pedals.  I have two more to make, one for the throttle quadrant and one for the flap & elevator wheels...Then it's time to see where I screwed up the wiring. *laughs*
