Sorry Mau you are correct. It is pedals. Don't know must go along with me hearing voices. I must agree with you that a project like this can cause the mind to go.

May I be stupid for the rest of my life if that's the case. Lol

You got a really good start here Trev. A few more weeks and you are there  ;D. Keep up the insanity...it makes the rest of us less insane looking (and I mean looking 'cause in reality, we are all there as well) :)

Trevor Hale

I think if I sleep in it one night, I may find myself sleeping in it for many nights as Bob suggests. Might become my new home lol.

Omg that's funny.  Speaking of J rail. What do they call the "I" rail stuff the pilot and fo seats ride on? And any place I can get 2 short lengths of it? I am missing the captians seat rails but have the fo side.

If you search "seat"  in ebaymotors aviation parts, those seat tracks pop up every now and then. You may be able to contact one of those resellers as well to help source the correct seat tracks.

Do you have the seats as well?

Gary

Trevor Hale

Yes I have the seats, and thanks for the advice.

This is how the cockpit looked before I began the Strip Down! (Nothing kinky Here)

[smg id=177]
After 8 Hours.....  This is what was left.  Still loads of cable..

[smg id=178]
Left side Clean

[smg id=179]
Right Side Clean.  All the mouse poop is gone, and the insulation removed. This had to be the worst part.

[smg id=180]
The Finished Product.  Obviously the remaining interior needs to come out, but going to work on the Paint and panel Next.  This is how the cockpit looked before I removed the TQ.

[smg id=175]
The CB Panel, Before removal.  Needs some TLC, and gonna try to find a way to get the chalkiness out of the Lightplate.

[smg id=176]
The Gear Lever...  Man is this thing ever hard to operate one handed with the safety latch.  I guess thats the point, but I can't picture letting go of the Yoke to use both hands on the lever.  LOL I am going to order a new lighted knob from Russcool, and Going to fit 3 new LED's above (Obviously)

[smg id=183]
TQ in Bad Shape...  Nuf Said

[smg id=181]
Test Fitting the New Levers for Thrust and Cutoff, before cleaning / sanding / Fresh paint.

Another shot Test Fitting the New Levers for Thrust and Cutoff, before cleaning / sanding / Fresh paint.

Looks like a lot done already!

This is going to be really cool to watch come together

Keep the pics coming,

Scott

Trevor Hale

Scott, it takes a lot of time, but it is coming along.  One of the biggest challanges I face is trying to get myself to just slow down.  I so bad want to start putting it back together, before I forget how to put it back together LOL.  And I want to get it flying again.  But I know I want to paint it and make it spiffy LOL.

It's not an easy task when it calls your name.  Additionally working out of town 4 days a week makes it challanging as well LOL.

Great pics Thanks Trev
The rebuilding has to be taken one at a time.
Meaning , make it perfect the first time , to avoid redoing it later.
Has to be better than new!
Anyway great fun and never forget that you have  bunch of avid observers behind your back

Trevor Hale

Lol. It wiil be a lot of fun with you guys laughing at me along the way. I really hope everything will look right when I am done. It's going to be crazy. Not sure what I will do this weekend but I may get the tq and the lower mip cleaned and painted up.

I think the challenge is going to be the mip and the monitors behind it. Cause there isn't a lot of room there. The interfaces will arrive soon and then I can start adding my own wiring.

Shane that would be an amazing thing. It would be awesome to have a buch of meterial hanging around and having a group of you guys over for a weekend of pure craziness. Beer, pizza and a bunch of laughs. Guys working on the mip, someone interfacing and others pulling together to help out.

It would be one big party that's for sure.

I bet everyone would have a blast.
