Ordering some Panels from Ruscool today!  Can't wait for them to arrive.

Did you get the lightplates with them? It's a bit more, but SO easy to connect and get working!! Sure beats soldering up dozens of LEDs and resistors...

No I didn't just the annunciators, and probably the overhead panels.  will be in touch with you after christmas..  :)

Hi guys, just another pit update. This weekend saw a lot of work with my fuel panel and OMI beacon lights. As well as the new RP48 panel for the autopilot.

The bird flies amazingly.

Just as a documented note: in Windows7 project magenta flight plan may flicker on and off. This is due to the windows indexing service. If you click on the flightsim drive and goto properties you can uncheck the indexing service. This corrects that issue.

No Problem Warren, I like to share my progress:

For instance, I learned the following last night as it wasn't a good night.

1. On my output card - Turn the voltage down by going CLOCKWISE to lower the voltage as it was a tad high and wanted to turn it down.
(I turned it Counterclockwise and blew up every LED in the SIM)

2. Outside view monitors don't like to be left on.
(I left them on so they wouldn't freeze and one blew up last night)

3. When working on your landing gear handle, lay down a mat or something to prevent stuff from falling down in the bellows of the airplane where even a 2 year old can't get their hand.
(I didn't lay down a mat, and now have to try to figure out how to locate something I can't see, nor get my hand in to get it back)

Then I went inside and had another beer while thinking I would have been better off staying inside to begin with.

Nice progress Trev . . .  I would love to build a King Air at some point.  Better get this Lear finished first . .  ;D   Using real parts can create unique problems . . I bet using a real airframe does the same!  But I love the feel of real!

I can't agree with you more Shane.  Using real parts has just such a different feel to it regardless.  The Real Airfram has had many challenges..  But most of these I have been able to overcome.

I am hoping to receive my lower panels this week, so I can get them changed out.  The Lower Overhead and Annunciators just showed up yesterday and I think I will be very busy getting them all wired and the servos put into the gauges.

Lots of work, I just wish I didn't have to be at work, so I could have the time to work on the stuff LOL.

Spent time this weekend fitting the lower Captain panels. This was a huge undertaking but I managed to complete it.

I have 4 switch inputs left for the fuel panel and then I will have to get another Bodnar card.

Congratulations, well done Trevor.

Thanks Guys,

The pictures don't do it Justice.  As soon as I get more of this complete and start recovering the walls, it will look much better. I am just nervous to start closing in the walls in case I need to run more cables LOL.

It is always wise to run extra cables containing a dozen or two of color coded wires. On the sides and from the overhead, just in case.
Even if they are never used, the investment is minimal and could save a lot of downtime. Also some access panels here and there can save the day.

Hmmm. That's a great plan Jack! I will take your advice for that one before I close up the walls.

This is what I worked on tonight. Darn servos.

Some more work over the past couple days on annunciators. I think I am out of outputs now. The image has what is working all lit up.

Strange how fast time flies and how slow things go.

Hey guys! Been pretty quiet here with mine rescue competition coming up in the first week of May, so I have been studying lots. However managed to get a couple hours out in the garage this week. My custom engine gauges are coming along but still need quite a bit of work.

Also, I managed to get the right side lower panels installed.

Well,

Its Been a while since I posted any updates.  The last couple months I have been busy tearing everything apart.  When I say everything I mean I had to disconnect the sim so I could better insulate the Hanger.  Thats the problem with living up in Nanook..  Its COLD, and I Hate the COLD.  so anyway, I have completely re-insulated the hanger, and in order to do that I have to push the airplane around and around and around.  After finally getting it back into place and getting it hooked back up I have decided that it is time to refinish the interior.  I need to do this so I can get the flooring and carpet done.

Needless to say, When I first got the aircraft I had spent a lot of time cleaning her out, but never completely finished..  Unfortunately when cleaning her out the rest of the way there was lots of 30 year old dust and mouse poop.  Glad its finally clean, and I will start refinishing the interior this Friday Night.

Just so there is a record here of the before and afters, I will attach my progress thus far.

Thanks for listening,

Trev

Looks good so far. If you need any Beech 99 knowledge let me know, I maintain 10 of them currently.  I think you mentioned that you have U-158...seems oddly familiar. Ill have to check our serial numbers when I get to work today.

Also if you need any wiring diagrams on how things were wired let me know I have the entire IPC on my ipad.

Thanks. It's been a while for sure. I don't get much time in the summers but as soon as Worldflight wraps up I am eager to get back into it.

I will be posting regular updates for the winter anyway.

Michael. Yes U-158. when I got it it had allegheny colours.  I am told it use to be Bar-harbor Air's

There isn't much left of the wiring. But lots of spare parts under the floor still if you need some. Ha ha ha.

Pretty cool knowing someone who may have been working on my plane at one time.

Keep me posted.

Right behind the main spar in the center of the floor theres a few hoses with a distributor valve, thats for the de-ice system. And right behind that theres a little motor with 4 cable drives that come out of it.  I would be intrested in the motor and the pressure switch on the de-ice system.

Or if you want, take a picture/s of things that are under there. I can pass it on to my parts dept and they might buy a few things off of you if its needed. As Ive been told we have the largest Beech 99 inventory in the USA.
