Whilst rebuilding my big 737 sim I also decided to jump back into real life flying.  To help with training (knocking off the rust) I decided to get my GA desktop sim setup for a Cessna panel layout for flying 172 or 182 in both X-plane 12 and MSFS 2020.  I custom built a switch panel for it and using Teensy arduino have setup in X-plane 12 (have to determine a way to run this in MSFS later).  I am using Realsimgear G1000 panels and Just got the Virtual-Fly Yoko+ yoke and the Ruddo+ rudder pedals.  I have to say that out of all the flight controls I have tried including CH, Saitek, Logitech, Honeycomb, and PFC...the Virtual-Fly are habds down the best and most realistic feeling to the real plane (if there really can ever be such a thing in a sim..lol).  But to my feel they are definitely worth the price of entry for a serious home training setup.  I plan on using this setup heavily on Pilot Edge for the Cat and I ratings and will of course use for my real life instrument training (which I had damn near completed back in 2010 (stopped because I was busy raising my 3 little triplets who are all now driving junior high schoolers).  Time to fly again!

Hope you like,
Scott

Well done...and bravo for real flying again !

Looking at your pictures I cant help wondering how simple it is today to build a serious and credible GA trainer (vs a 737 !)
