Hello Everyone,

It has been quite a long time since I have posted anything on the Forum.  I am still very much in the process of building my full-scale 737-800 Sim Project, with a 6dof Motion Platform.  I started this project about four years ago and it is finally getting to the point where I can start to package all the working systems and get them mounted on top of my 6dof motion platform.

Although the Sim is not yet mounted on the motion platform, I was encouraged by Fred to post a couple of test videos showing how the motion platform is currently working.  These are initial tests using a new Thanos Servo drive system with some improvements to the BFF 6dof motion software. At the present time, I am doing some final fabrication to the FDS 737 Nose Section to mount the Projector/Screen structure, after which I will mount the Nose Section on the motion platform and install all the working 737 Sim systems.  My 737-800 Sim is situated in a special room dedicated to the Sim/Motion Platform.   Each of the motion platform gearboxes are anchored to a specially built foundation weighing over 14,000 pounds.

By the way...  I am switching over to a new Optoma ZH406ST DLP Laser projector system.  This will replace my three Optoma GT1080HD projectors, used with PixelWix AutoBlend/EVO for a 205 degree wrap-around display.

I am still using two computers for my Sim.  One is a high performance Windows 10 based computer for P3Dv4.5, and the other is a standard Win 7 system for the Sim-Avionics Flight Model.

Below are a couple of videos that are intended to show the initial setup of the 6dof Motion Platform responding to "motion cues" from P3D v4.5, to the BFF 6dof motion software, to the Thanos AASD15A Servo Controller, to the 130ST 240VAC 2.6 KW Servo Controllers/Motors.

The first video show motion platform movement during pushback, taxi, takeoff, and in-flight.  The second video is a follow on to the first video and shows takeoff, back around to a landing.  My friend is a retired 737-200 pilot who I asked to fly the Sim while I took the video.  He is not used to the 737-800 Sim, so don't be too hard on him while he makes an effort to control the Sim.  In any case, my intent here is to share with you my progress on the 6dof Motion Platform project.
