Title: WF16 Pilot Bids
Post by: dougsnow on September 01, 2016, 01:34:21 PM
Now that the schedule has been out for a while, I'd like to throw in my bids for segments to fly for this year's WF:

All legs as FO

PHKO-KSEA
KSEA-PAJN
SBNT-GVAC
VIDP-VNKT
VKNT-VGHS
RCTP-VHHH

Plus I'll be there for the whole week this year, so I can pickup any open time as well. In fact, it looks like I wont be leaving SRQ til tuesday. I have an FAA/Industry meeting in DC that following tuesday at noon, so I might just stick around and fly up to DCA that tuesday morning.

Hi Doug,

Looks like we will be flying the 737-300 up here in the North.  So the figures will be real close to the NG on performance.  I'll try and get exact numbers for you for planning purposes

Hi Doug,

Are you flying into Tampa on the Friday evening? I'm scheduled to get in there around 5:30.

We're going to put the pilot schedule together a bit differently this year.
I have written a program that takes everyone's bid's and will assign flights based on seniority like an airline does. Then it assigns flights based on pilots availability and number of flights they have assigned to them.
Then we'll massage it if necessary.

I did a few test runs on it using last year's bids and it actually produced a reasonable schedule.

I'll be putting an post together for all pilots on how it works, what is needed and a deadline in the next week or two.

Kyle

I am, our flight sked gets in at 1824, but over at the Cargo ramp on the far side of TPA. I uber it over to the pax terminal to get the car. If you want, welcome to ride down with me. My flight is FDX768, an MD11.

I have a car reserved for the whole time I'm in FL.  Plan is I fly out of SRQ the tuesday after the festivities end at 7a for a business trip to DCA.

As far as a PBS, sounds interesting...

I'd also like to put in my bid for the following flights:
PHKO-KSEA
KSEA-PAJN

Either one, not both, obviously.

I guess the next question is: How are we determining seniority?

Have to discuss that more with Trevor, but probably based on the number of events/days attended. Don't worry Ray, we'll just stick you at the bottom :P.

The actual seniority number probably won't really matter. If 2 people bid on the same flight, the more 'senior' one will get capt seat, the other FO, and they can swap if they wish. Only will be an issue if 3 or more want the same flight.
It's more about making the process easier on Trevor. Hand generating a schedule like this with everyone's coming and going isn't a walk in the park, so the automated tool makes it a bit easier.

Kyles help on this is paramount, I haven't seen the excel spreadsheet yet. As soon as it is out and we have a better idea of who will be attending and when we will work on the schedule.

Thanks guys.

People have already messaged me and had me add them to the Sheet. (Those people are listed there already)  I still have not received the donation notices from the people on the list yet though. I usually start chasing that the end of September and in October.

I will be driving down from Virginia this year.

My plan is to arrive at Sam's by noon on Sunday and will stay around through the end of the week.

My schedule is very flexible other than Tuesday morning, all day Wednesday, and Thursday morning as I have other plans for those times.

As a high priority I would be interested in (I fly these often):

1610 CYYZ/KLGA
1611 KLGA/KCHS

Other priority interests are the following:

1606
1607
1614
1619
1620
1634
1636
1640
1642

These are basically cream-puff times that happen to also fit my schedule nicely.  I just want to be sure I have my foot in the door regarding the cream-puffs.... I fully realize the cream-puffs should be shared fairly.   I would be willing to do a couple of early morning slots to help fill out the schedule and can fill in wherever during the times that I am available.

Having missed this last year I am very much looking forward to it all this year!

I would like to thank the whole WF16 team and the support team working on the schedule and dispatch, thank you guys for your tremendous effort and magnificent job, lets make WF16 a better year!

I'm working on adding two more computers for streaming and tuning the simulator a bit, I'm thinking on changing the projectors back to the Optoma like we had on our first year, the ATC sound has been solve, now we can hear ATC without the use of the headset but the use of headset still available plus a couple of surprises inside the cockpit.

Once again thank you and I'm looking forward to see all of you again!!!

Cheers!!

Hey Trevor,

Program is ready to go. Just need to put in the schedule and write up a post for pilots to submit bids. Hoping to have that ready by the end of next week.

Scott. Just make sure Rob sends me an excel sheet with your roster and I will post it.

He can copy the schedule and roster from the existing website and paste it into excel and fill in the blanks.

All you had to do was PM me, Text me, or call me.  Remember we are ALL on the same side, aren't we?  I have and will continue to promote both teams because in the end, the children win.  ;)

All I got was your pilot list. Although it was in a strange format lol. Maybe the conversion didn't work properly.

I will check it out from my PC tomorrow.
