Hi Guys,
As it goes... You fix one thing on the Sim, and something else goes wrong. Such is the life building our Sims.
I wanted to share a recent experience in resolving a USB issue with my Sim on the FSX computer. Although things worked fine for months, I recently began seeing problems with one of my USB Hubs connected to my FSX computer, that controlled the Radios and other Pedestal gear, including my TQ. I had nine (9) devices plugged into a 10-port Hub, with a few other USB devices connected using the same USB Chip Set. It had been working, and then slowly, started to show erratic behavior. Long story short... I installed a PCI Express USB card giving me two additional USB ports. However, the main benefit was having an addition USB Chip Set. I then moved the TQ USB device to the new USB card. The result was that ALL the Pedestal USB devices starting working again.
Apparently, I was operating on the edge by having too many USB devices on a single USB Chip Set. If you are having USB problems, you might consider adding a USB card to your computer in order to achieve a better balance in spreading the USB load across your Sim computer.
