Hi guys,

Time for the whole introduction thing. Right then. My name is Jessica Bannister-Pearce, and I'm from the beautiful Welsh Valleys. I'm currently building my own A320 home cockpit. It was kind of unexpected. There's a nice, long story, full of intrigue, plot twists and surprise characters that explains why there's a half completed A320 in my office, but that may be for another day. Instead the short version includes a trip to the vatsim conference in Vienna last year, and a chance meeting with Terry Scanlan of Worldflight fame. The rest is history.

So where is my build right now? At the moment, I've been working on the overhead. So far, the main items required for flight, the fuel valves, APU, bleeds and so on are functional. I've also got a small pedestal installed with the engine start valves and auto brakes set up. My hope is by July, to have the overhead fully wired, with switches, LED's and backlit, along with having the MIP frames fitted. So far, the MIP monitors are attached to my Volair desk area.

The whole thing is run using the Jeehell A320 suite via 3 machines. It's all running well.

So thats the basics.

Bast wishes,
Jess B

Hey Jess, Welcome to the group.  Please feel free to post some pictures of your setup.  You can attach them to the bottom of your posts.  Perhaps start a new thread and keep updating it with your progress.  We love pictures.  Especially since their aren't many Bus drivers here.

I am sure we all have strange stories as to how we ended up in this crazy hobby, but one thing that is common is our love for aviation.

Terry is a great guy and a pioneer in this Hobby.

Great to have you here.

Gywn, you sneaky bugger.

Yes I wrote the Worldflight article for pc pilot, and Trevor, my apologise for not getting back to you. I would have loved to have gotten your stories into the mag, but I ran out of room. Even after I submitted the article I had to trim to make the issue. Personally, I could make a whole issue out of just Worldflight.

As for pictures, well I'm in the middle of rejiggered the setup to create more room, so expect a few pics in a month or so.

Other than that, thanks for the welcome.

Best wishes,
Jess B

Ahh, No worries.  The best part about worldflight is that any publicity helps all of the teams. Which in turn helps more of the charities.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

Welcome Jess,

I see that Gwyn has already introduced you as one of my colleagues, so I don't need to.  ;) I've been helped by these kind folk and have helped others (in a limited way) for a few years now. There is no better place to get the info for cockpit building you might need, and of course to pass on your own experiences. They're a great bunch of people who are always willing to help.

Regards, also from Wales.  8)
