Title: WideFS connection / Position on Google Earth
Post by: Tissi_2 on November 20, 2012, 03:27:54 AM
Hi folks,

I am running the demo version of iStation on the same pc that the fsx runs on. I already have a valid FSUPIC and WideFS license. Here are my 3 problems:

1. The iStation connects to FSUIPC but not to the WideFS
2. The real time position of the A/C is not shown on Google Earth although the position of the A/C is correctly displayed in the tracker window
3. I donĀ“t like the logo of iStation in Google Earth. Is it possible to use an own logo instead?

Maybe you got the answers to it?!

Thanks Bros

Matthias

Hi Matthias,

Answers to your questions:

1. If iStation is running on the FSX computer, there is no need for it to connect to WideFS, it connects directly to FSUIPC.  Connection to WideFS is only required when running iStation on a remote computer.

2. To enable the real time viewing of ACFT in Google Earth, follow these steps (see image below):

   1) Start the data logger (PERFORMANCE tab)
   2) Click on the "G.Earth Real-Time" check box.
   3) Push the "Google Earth" button.

3. You can disable the Instructor Station logo in Google Earth by unclicking the "Absolute positioning: Top Left" checkbox (as indicated in the image below).  If you want to add your own logo, you have 2 options: either superimpose an image in Google Earth, locating it on the desired position, with each data set, or we can customize the logo on your iStation copy for a fee.

Hope this answers your questions!
