Title: Yoke and Pedal Height
Post by: English Rebel on June 26, 2011, 10:18:41 AM
I'm building a general aviation simulator which will have a VFInsight Flightmaster Yoke, Saitek pedals and a few GoFlight modules (I already have their cockpit console rack that houses the throttle quadrant etc.  I started with a seat from a Nissan Quest where the front of the seat squab is 16" above the floor (no height adjustment).  I'm going to build a raised platform from 2x4s and 3/4" plywood.  What is the relationship between the height of the seat squab, the bottom of the yoke?  Also, should the pedals be place on the floor at a slight angle or should then be below the floor as I've seen some sim pits?
Thanks
Alan

Alan, if you are building a generic cockpit, just built it to whats comfortable. Just keep in mind that there is not much room in the nose of a GA bird! Very tight....
