On January 14, 2011, at 1434 eastern standard time, a Diamond Aircraft DA20-A1, N840DF, owned by a private individual, collided with the ground while conducting a forced landing in Pompano Beach, Florida. The certificated private pilot was not injured, and the airplane sustained substantial damage. The flight was operated as a personal flight under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91, and no flight plan was filed for the local flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The flight originated from Pompano Beach Airpark (PMP), Pompano Beach, Florida, at about 1415.
According to the pilot, she pulled the airplane out of its hangar and performed a pre-flight inspection with no discrepancies noted. She taxied the airplane to the run-up area, performed a complete run-up and said that all of the engine gauges and avionics were fine. She informed the tower that she was going to do three touch and go landings and then would be taxiing back to the Fixed Base Operator (FBO). She departed runway 10, did one touch and go landing. While on takeoff from the touch and go landing, at about 100 feet above the ground, the engine lost power. She turned 90-degrees to the right and made a forced landing in a field.
Examination of the airplane by a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspector revealed that the airplane impacted a berm and spun around, substantially damaging the engine firewall, nose gear and propeller.
The airplane has been recovered for further examination.
Thats the sort of thing I am after if I could only find one, from about the F on the registration forward minus wings and gear with an intact cockpit, controls and trim minus of course the garmin and instruments, but need the switches and consul for realism. I may be looking for a while
