This is my latest project with the help of Mike P. i am trying to interface these real 727 engine gauges. So far testing has gone extremely well and is turning out to be fairly easy task. We have simulated the needed signal, now we are going to interface it to the sim. Here is a pic of the gauge working on my temp test stand area.

As it stands right now, (very simply) it could be driven from a servo card driving a servo to turn a potentiometer which makes the voltage/frequency change to drive the gauge. I want to eliminate the servo but it is possible to use it as it is right now for only a servo and 5 bucks or less in electrical components. Pretty cool to see it working. Eliminate the servo and use a PIC and you gain increased accuracy/resolution and less part scount but at a (maybe) slightly higher cost.
Well, I can tell you just from the picture that it is very impressive.. Nice work, please try to keep us updated on your progress.

Got all the parts in today so breadboarded up a temp cicuit with the PIC from Mike and hooked to my OC servo card. Firgured out the slope and intercept angles,quick program in SIOC and PRESTO! The real gauge matched the sim perfectly!! YEA! So cool seeing the needle and digital read-out working with the sim. Amazing what you can do with such a small IC chip. and a few cheap components! Thanks to Mike Powell and David Allen for all the help. Will post a video once i find a loaner camera.
