Well my youngest son called me yesterday and he just got his orders, he's not having to go to Afghanistan deployment in January because he's already done 3 Full Combat Deployments, so instead hes been reassigned as a Plane Captain with promotion to CVN69 USS Eisenhower for VF 103 Sqn FA/18-A's so he's pretty pumped. Anyhow better than boots on the ground in AStan :)
just thought I'd share the good news with you fellas :)

That's good news Tim. My son is soon to leave Afghanistan for Germany and then back to Okinowa.
It's his third trip to the sandbox and hopefully his last.
Thats awesome Tim! good to hear.. BTW i got an overnight tour once of the USS Enterprise off the coast of Jacksonville few years ago (complete with carrier landing and launch) and it was just awesome! They flew F-18's off that thing running drills all day and night long. Im sure he will love it!! Ill have to find some pics..

Hmmm!! USS Eisenhower or rocky desert full of hidden explosives??? Your son & you must be so disappointed ::). Just make sure to tell your son not to walk in front of a jet engine ready to take off ;)
