Ok guys as you know my goal is to build an NG. I have my sites on FDS, Simworld, FlyEngravity. Not sure about Simworld now because i got speaking to someone who is very known in this community and hes been reviewing a certain piece of hardware and not impressed with the quality which is lacking.

Below is my 2nd PC specs to drive my visuals and anything else. I built it on this site...

...Be careful who you talk to and what advise you take into consideration in this business, I was on your shoes back in 2011.

I'm not affiliated to Simworld in any type, shape or form, don't take my word for it, but all I can tell you is...  MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK before you buy.

Just my honest opinion!

Cheers!

Its a hard selection process for sure. I'm waiting on a qoute from FlyEngravity but robert is out the office and back next week so need to wait off.

So you saying hold off with simworld as its not up to scratch...

re your pc spec, you really need to outline your suggested setup. I thought from another thread on here that you were agreeing with Trevor and going the wideview route. In which case ideally you need three pc`c for the visuals and one pc for FSX. That will give you good frame rates - others may disagree, but I have seen a setup done this way and it was exremely smooth, no stuttering even with a heavy scenery load.

Irrespective of setup a 3.2ghz cpu is not man enough at all. FSX is cpu bound and you need a 4ghz, preferably overclocked to 4.4ghz. Cillblast can provide these. You may get a better performance using an I7, but I am not sure on whether this is worth it.

This is my main Server PC with P3D V3

Overclocked Intel Core i7-4770k Quad Core (3.50GHz @ max
ASUS Z87-A GTX 780

And going to add a TITAN Z GPU to run a 65" samsung curved 4k

Now, the thread is about a 2nd PC to run my visuals in the cockpit. PFD/ND etc

Just for some terminology clarification:

When we say here "run my visuals" - it typically applies to outside views - i.e. generated scenery.  PFD/ND etc.,  are not "visuals" per se - you can say something like "run my displays" or "run avionics"

Just  :2cw: so we are on the same page.  ;)
