Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself.

My name is Aaron Buchanan and I live in the state of Virginia.  I am a retired US Navy Sailor. I am a novice to the sim building process but have already had a good learning experience.  I am building a FDS 737 MIP/Glare and also am using CP flight for MCP/EFIS and a Revolution sim TQ.  If you have any advice I'm always willing to hear and listen.

Contact my on skype if you feel like talking shop.  Lomaric

My 737-800 full-scale cockpit has been sold. Now onto my full-size military helicopter project. An AOPA member and LifeTime member of National Association of Flight Instructors. Please note that I am a self-employed professional cockpit builder that provides consulting to defense contractors and civilian schools and airlines.

Welcome to the forum Aaron. Yes, pictures would be nice.

I haven't done a whole lot with it because I'm still building on it.  I have mainly been interfacing with the PMDG NGX until a avionics software solution becomes available.

Never been good with posting images on these forums.

In the meantime did you check this one:

Fairly sophisticated for the cost !!

I have seen this before Jack, but not what I am looking for.  I have become a stickler for high fidelity software with a lot of functionality.

Bob Reed

Well, there is Pro Sim, Sim Avionics and Project Magenta.

I have never seen this software suit before. I am flabbergasted at the price. If it connects to the sim and does nothing more this is amazing!

FredK

Price is right...but note....Aerosoft is "Captain Side Only".  Also unclear as to inclusion of overhead systems.

Yes I see that Fred. I wonder about programability for the CDU as well....

Check the site carefully page by page
Nothing to compare with the high end softs but at 1/20th of the price you get an exceptional price /perf ratio.
Totally interfacable. Can be one computer or a network and can fill the FO screens with a $5 Y cable.

Not trying to push for any reason, but the man behind it is Andrew McLean ...remember the Aerosoft 747 MCP...the very first MCP hardware! It Was him!
He is easy to reach (info @) and always ready to help.

Hey Jack, I am using PM I am just intrigued by what I see for the $$. Very impressive! At some point I will load it up and see how it works. What a great alternative especially if you are only doing a 1 seat anyway! And I do remember that MCP. I think you had one at one time. I wanted one in the worst way when they first came out. It was funny too because James Price was using a 747 MCP in his 737 at the time as it was the only real one he could find.

jackpilot

I still Have it ...avail (even with a gray overlay)

Hi.

Just to mention, I remember Andrew, I still have the MCP747 he
built several years ago. That is how I started my first Sim.
I guess now it is a museum piece (maybe not ). It is a very good piece of hardware. Part of history.

Back to the Software issue, I still believe ProSim to be at the top, and believe me, I have used them all!! ( PM,SA and now PS ).

Cheers.
