Have any of you shopped from AliExpress or Alibaba? How have your experiences been and how do you recommend to go about it?

Joe Lavery

I have bought from AliExpress, they are a bit slow on deliveries, but no horror stories yet!
Banggood are better and sometimes cheaper, they would be my preference. It depends what you're buying.

I used to buy my ACARS printers there until the manufacturer started selling direct. All good, never any hassles but typical Chinese shipping - 3 to 4 weeks. Cheers Gwyn

Which printer is that and how do you get them? I was looking more into DSP's for my Laser Cutter/Engraver.

I've bought everything from ACARs printers to LCDs and electronic components.  Never had a problem even with shipping to the US and to Germany.

Get out of my head, Kyle!

Yes, there was that one time where I had ordered a full set of linear bearings (3) as is used in heavy-duty 3D printing machines.

Instead what I got was an electric razor.  :o

(A fine razor, but not what I had in mind...?)

Regardless, I brought it to WF2016 and asked the best minds available on how to convert it for it's intended use, but no amount of engineering could make it behave like a linear bearing. (And we had the best of the best on the task!) It did, however, impart a comfortable, close shave.....

Lesson learned: Make sure what you order is not an electric razor.

ps: Alibaba insisted I keep the electric razor and they would make it right and send the bearings I originally ordered. (Which they did!)

I think Sam may still have that razor....

Yes I do have the razor Ray, let me know if you want it back. LOL.
