Hi Guys,  There are very few things in this world that I like to promote, however I will say that when it comes to charities that involve our hobby, I am willing to go above and beyond.  I love this Hobby for many reasons, however one of the biggest things I love about this hobby is the community, All of us.  (pat yourselves on the back here) Because if it wasn't for the great group of people that are involved in this hobby it wouldn't be as pleasant.  Cockpitbuilders.com is getting involved as it did (Previously under a different name) with World Flight 2009.

It is my intention this year, and every year going forward to donate bandwith and video streaming to at least one of the World Flight teams.  This year, we have managed to achieve the best video stream going.  I am confident that the AZ Team 737 will have one of the best, if not the best video stream during the event.

I understand that you may ask "Why donate to an AZ Team, when you live in Canada"  Well the point  here is that no matter what team you support, you are supporting the entire event, which we all know supports charities world wide.

These teams all over the world, operate their simulators 24 hours a day for 7 days, and do it all in the name of charity.  Cockpitbuilders.com (The community) will do our part as should every "Flight Simulation" website in the web.

I personally call upon the community to pull together and support at least one team.  It doesn't need to be a team close to you or away from you, just help out in some way.

Most of you will notice the (World Flight) Logo on the top right of your screen, well during the event (Starting November 2nd) until November 8th, you will be able to watch Team 737, 24 hours a day make their way on a trip around the world to support "The Royal Flying Doctor Service"  Which for most of us in North Amarica means (Medevac Aviation services).

If you are interested...  Here is a little blurb about Team 737, and information on how you can help.

About World Flight
Worldflight Australia is a “virtual”  round the world flight to raise money for the Australian  Royal Flying Doctor Service. The concept of a virtual, round the world flight  for charity was started in 2000 by a team in the United Kingdom, and has spawned  into an annual event with participants all over the globe. ‘Worldflight  Australia’ (a registered charity) was started in 2001 and over the past five  years Worldflight Australia teams have raised over $65,000 for the RFDS, helping  with the costs of avionics in the essential Air Ambulances used to ferry nurses,  doctors and patients around rural Australia.

The popularity of conducting a World Flight for charity is growing, with teams  in Canada, Ireland and Scotland joining the flight over the years. Each team  select their own charity, raising funds through donations and corporate  sponsorship. We are part of this expansion as a second simulator team within  World Flight Australia, Ten pilots will man the Boeing 737-800 Simulator . Each of the volunteer  crew will have contributed a donation to the RFDS fund to take part. The flight will be conducted online on the VATSIM network, providing live Air Traffic Control through  most of the countries that we visit. A 45-60 minute turn around is allowed at  each stop and during that time the incoming crew will be fully briefed as to  weather conditions along their route as well as other operational requirements.  Interested people will be able to follow the progress via interactive flight  tracking, instrument displays and streaming video and audio during the event.  And for locals there is the opportunity to experience flights in the cockpit by  purchasing tickets for 'jump-seat' rides.

Best wishes to ALL the world flight teams, and I look forward to the event.

Actually,
For almost 6 years I was the representative for WF and it was an amazing experience. Raised allot of money for children's charities, but I must admit finding a crew of people to fly non stop 6 days around the clock and still try to live a normal life was incredibly tough. We pulled it off year after year. But as of last year I literally flew 4 of those days by myself to meet the time quotas. it was insane. Not enough dedicated interest or guys showing up for 3am shifts etc So I had to fill in as F/O or PF it was very difficult. Now that I have disassembled my pit to a large degree , I have bowed out as Canadian WF rep, but it is certainly an incredible experience and awesome cause to donate too. I invite anyone with a fully operational sim to take up the torch and carry it for Canada in the truly rewarding venue.I wish all WF teams the greatest success, to my friends Matt, Scanlan,Hooley,Hoppy,John wow too many to mention but have the best WF ever.

Hey Tim..  Personally I am hoping to pick up the torch for Canada..  (I would like to put something together for Next year) Lots of planning and lots of interest, and If I could get Jack, and Mau <--with his walker.. to drive to the northern Tundra And allow me to cook and clean for them perhaps I could pull it off.

Who knows..

Hey, I don't need a walker yet; I'll break in my brand new snowshoes after I move to Gravenhurst...should only take a few months to get to the Arctic, so expect me in 2010-11.
