Title: Her Very Last Flight......
Post by: FredK on June 26, 2020, 05:32:20 PM
Interesting video about the last flight of the Boeing 727 prototype that was in service for United 1963-1991.

The plane then sat in a back lot half-stripped down (including the engines) for over 25 years with no maintenance.

A team of volunteers from Boeing and other aviation companies took it upon themselves to fully restore her, including the engines donated by FedEx, for one last flight to her resting place at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

The cockpit operation during the last flight was the most interesting part....I think the pilots were surprised it ever got off the ground!

RIP

Brilliant movie Fred, and somewhat emotional to see her going on her last flight. I love the dedication that some of these enthusiasts put in to such projects.

Joe.
