New From Aerosoft...  I saw this and had to share it with you all. Introducing Super Traffic Board, the next wave in displaying and interacting with your AI traffic. It Supports all major AI packages like Just Flight TrafficX, MyTrafficX, ORBX Full Terrain Experience (FTX), Ultimate Traffic and World of AI.

New features in V2.20 include:

  • Integration with the popular AIRound Flight Simulator Add-on, offering new AI camera views.
  • Listen to the Radio Communications between a selected AI Aircraft and Air Traffic Control, all the way from pre-flight, departure, enroute through to arrival and beyond.
  • User Aircraft may now be subject to flight control. Any AI Aircraft that cause an airspace conflict with the user aircraft during final approach are moved to an arrival stand to clear the way for the user.
  • New custom filters to limit the flights on display, applied after your choice of airport and arrivals/departures/everything.Filter by operator type, e.g. show passenger flights only.
  • Filter by COM1 radio, e.g. show only those aircraft sharing the same radio frequency and hence the same Air Traffic Controller.
The STB clock is updated every minute (compared to Flight Simulator) when time acceleration up to 4x is used.
Automatically configure the role of STB on the basis of user activity.  If the user loads a flight plan, the board switched into pilot mode.  If not, the board remains in observer mode.
User issued Delete AI commands now remove the selected flight from the board rather than declaring it as a termination in certain circumstances.
Follow AI no longer uses the slew infrastructure. This eliminates the influence of any user control surface changes that may result in uncontrolled user aircraft movements following a Return to Base command.
Follow AI is restricted to spotter mode to avoid unexpected side effects on the user aircraft, such as an ATC flight plan cancellation.
Follow and Shadow AI are only available when crash detection is switched off in Flight Simulator, and when the user aircraft is on the ground.
The distance between the user aircraft and the AI aircraft being followed may now be configured.
The  following status indicators are included on the board:

  • User Aircraft in use by STB (for Follow or Shadow AI commands).
  • User Com1 Radio in use by STB (for Listening to AI ATC communications).
  • User Aircraft subject to flight control.
  • Auto select nearest airport is active.
  • AIRound view pending (when the selected AI aircraft enters the appropriate state)
Changed behaviour of “auto select nearest airport”

  • If “auto connect” is enabled, the nearest airport is auto selected once (only) upon connection to Flight Simulator
  • If “auto select nearest airport” is configured with observer mode, the nearest airport is automatilcally chosen once (only) upon connection to Flight Simulator
  • If “auto select nearest airport” is configured with pilotmode, the nearest airport is repeatidly selected every minute.
  • When the user aircraft is moved through a Flight Simulator dialogue, the closest airport is selected if “auto select nearest airport” is enabled.

Features:

  • Airport passenger style flight information board, and much more.
  • Supports all major AI packages. Configuration data included for Just Flight TrafficX, MyTrafficX, ORBX Full Terrain Experience (FTX), Ultimate Traffic and World of AI. Further packages configured on request.
  • Real time advanced information including actual airport names, runway allocation, speed, altitude, and distance from airport.
  • Displays all AI flights under simulation including Passenger, Cargo, Military and GA operations each with their own unique interpretation.
  • Pilot and Spotter operational modes. Each mode determines how SuperTrafficBoard presents data, for the best possible experience when flying or just observing.
  • Automated AI Flight Controller Features:
  • Detect airspace conflicts in approaching aircraft, and moves aircraft "breaking the rules" to an arrival stand rather than leaving them to be deleted by Flight Simulator.
  • Capture inbound aircraft that are deleted by Flight Simulator to relieve taxi way congestion, and recreate those aircraft with a schedule at an arrival stand.
  • Detect and rescue aircraft that are stuck in pre/post flight support, and send them on their way. Aircraft that cannot be rescued are deleted, releasing the parking space for others.
  • Automatically configure departing AI aircraft to deploy flaps for take off.
Interactive Commands:

  •    Optimize Traffic.  Reduce your traffic volumes dynamically for the best possible simulator performance.
  • Flight Information.  Find out where an arrival flight is going next.
  • View AI.  See any aircraft in Flight Simulator by selecting a flight on the board.
  • Shadow AI. Place an invisible user aircraft at the centre of the chosen AI aircraft enabling the best possible scenery experience around the AI aircraft and a preview of new camera angles.
  •    Follow AI.  Automatically follow an AI aircraft from departure to arrival, and on to the next leg in its schedule.
  • Chase AI.  Moves your aircraft to the vicinity of an AI aircraft, allowing you to fly "escort".
  • Move to Stand.  Move inbound aircraft to the stand (for instance if they are blocking your approach or taxiway).
  • Slew On/Off.  Pause and resume AI aircraft.
  • Depart Now: Order aircraft to begin their departure procedures immediately rather than at their scheduled time.
Support for Airline and Airport Logos.
Convert text to upper case to simulate vintage real world traffic boards.
Override FSX callsigns so that multiple airlines using the same callsign can be configured differently on the traffic board. Examples from certain AI packages include "United" and "Ted", and "Virgin Atlantic" and "Virgin Blue".
Network support included as standard. Use SuperTrafficBoard on a separate PC/Laptop in addition to your main FSX computer.
Highly customizable via a dedicated GUI.
50+ Page User Guide.
User interface available in US English, UK English and Swedish.
Designed from the ground up as a native FSX application.
Considerations:

  • If used on the same computer as Flight Simulator, FS must be run in windowed mode. FS may be used in full screen mode of STB is installed on another networked computer.
  • While SuperTrafficBoard is the active window, Flight Simulator temporarily disables sound. This means you may not be able to hear aircraft sounds, ATC voices, etc. until Flight Simulator becomes the active window again. This is a Microsoft “feature” and has been reported to them although since FSX development is frozen a fix is not expected. Workarounds are available; see the user guide for more details.
  • Product advertising screenshots show logos for airlines and airports. As logos are typically copyrighted to and trademarks of their owners, they cannot be included with a commercial product such as SuperTrafficBoard. However you may wish to create or collect your own logos and add those to STB. Please see http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=268&t=72122 for recommendations.

Looks cool, have to try this utility one day..

Thanx for letting us know

Trevor Hale

Svein,  I totally agree.  It would be neat to see it hanging outside of the sim room..  Just another toy LOL.

I am still running FS9, but if I can ever switch to FSX..  I may have to get this.  I thought it was awesome.

lots of interesting features in this program. Specially the stuff that send the AI planes on a go around when I am on the approach. It make me feel more important ;D, nah worst ting on a good approach is to have those suckers sneaking up in front of you ;)

LOL Svein.. I think Ivar just runs them over...

Trevor, how could you know that?  ;D

Yeah, sidewinders.

Are we talking about a regular 737 bus to a P-8A conversion here? Could make some fun on approach then, hehe, and air to air combat on Vatsim ;D

saabpilot

There is a useful function in FSUIPC called zapper.
Lets you "zap" any AI in front of you if you dislike him.   ;D
I have that one assigned on a joystick button.

Fly Safe - Low and slow
There are Young Pilots there are Bold Pilots but no Bold and Old Pilots.

jackpilot

Where did you find the "Zapper"?
Really handy in some conflicting approaches...
