Hi Trevor,

Tried to upload a video to the "Gallery", but if it is to be conducted under the "Upload File" it appears it is for photographs only because there was no selection available to post it in the "Various Home Cockpit Video's" category ..... download was unsuccessful ....... I assume I am missing something or in the wrong spot?

Cheers

Hi Angus,  Just upload the file as you would one of your pictures.  it should work.  Or once you upload it throw it in the "video" section.

I think I just need to adjust the max file upload size.  how big of a file are you trying to upload?

LOL.  Yeah I had it at 4MB now its at 120MB.  Give it a go... maybe try something a bit smaller and see if that works.  If you have a look in the bottom of the gallery you can see I uploaded an AVI test video.  But i just tried now, and I got an error with an 11MB WMV file.  Maybe WMV is not compatible, but I will keep trying. I will let you know, but feel free to keep trying yourself.

Hey Trevor, let us know what file formats are acceptable to the site software would you please?

When I take a video on my camera and processes it and upload it in a different format it loses quite a bit in the transfer and becomes very jittery. Like a slow assed computer running FSX. I'd really like to see .MOV format.

No conversion, smooth graphics and no glitches.

Okay just failed again.  However, even though it is an AVI file if the max upload has only now just been increased to 120 MB - then that's the problem!  As I said before, my video is 420MB.

Oh well, let us know if the upload limit is further increased.  Cheers for now.

You will have to use a compression format that squeezes it down to the forum limits and in a video format that can be be uploaded to the site.

One of the reasons I stopped making videos. They look like crap when compressed because of the file size you need to squeeze into site requirements.

Not a fault of the site owners, it's just that video is enourmously large files. Still, it sucks that you can't display them as they were shot.

Allowed movie types "ALL" will result in all allowed movie file types to be uploaded. If you want to restrict the allowable file types to certain extensions only, enter a slash-separated list of extensions, e.g. wmv/avi/mov.
Note that being able to display a movie requires that the cpg-user have the necessary codecs properly configured on their computers to display the movie file, e.g. if you allow the file type mov, the user who wishes to view the file will need to have Apple's Quick-Time plug-in installed. Also note that avi is just a container for different codecs - this means that a computer which is capable of playing movie1.avi may not be capable of playing movie2.avi if those files have been encoded with different 'avi' codecs.
[cpg1.3.0 or better required]

And I have increased the size..  (See if it works Angus..)  I have no idea how much disk space I have left, Bob Has a NAZ to put on the server which should allow for more space..
