Title: International Man of Mystery - AKA Ian P. Sissons

Gents, Some of you may know Ian, and some of you may not, regardless it is important for everyone in this hobby to know that he is indeed a man of many talents. (The only guy I know that can do emergency procedures in cat III conditions, and not spill a drop of Beer!)  8) Ian is on a multitude of quests and he willingly endeavors  to crack the PMDG wide open to allow it to be used 100% to control his Simulator.  Ian has been helping this community with complicated projects that make the skin curl on most of us, but after we let him go through the pain of figuring it out, he demonstrates his knowledge on his website (http://www.737ng.co.uk) and allows us to copy his exceptional work.  (Cheers for that)

Anyway, my point is that everyone of us has someone we look up to in this hobby, and for me Ian and many of you other builders are my inspiration, and I thank you all for being here.

Ian's site is a wealth of info and ideas.
He is reponsible for driving me into the insanity of making the overhead work without PMSys...Not sure I will ever make it light up this way but I'am trying hard and it is certainly much for fun to play with little circuits, diodes, gates..etc than punching in offsets (which are still a mystery to me ::)).
Anyway, thank you Ian for an amazing work...

I echo all of the previous comments!
Plus you know he is a good guy when just outside of his cockpt door there is a supply of beer - supposedly it was his test setup...

Cheers
Mike

Never had the chance to steal, I mean sample his beer.. YET!

But I agree wholeheartedly with everything that's been said so far. Ian was extremely helpful during the build of my 737 cockpit, both in the design process and later in how to fly the bloody thing  :). Still got my L plates up on that score.

I need to also acknowledge our illustrious moderator here, who guided me through the intricacies of the PM setup, thanks again Trev.

Long may you both continue in this extremely frustrating yet gratifying hobby.

Best regards

Joe Lavery.

Thanks Joe.  And I assure you I am going to continue to make a solid effort to help you continue that project as well.

I couldn't resist with the title of the thread, and I love those commercials! I wish they'd make more.

oh my god ! fame at last  ;D
gentlemen, i just don't know what to say.    very unusual for me because i'm usually outspoken  ;D
thanks to everyone for their kind comments, it is really something when you are complimented by your peers to such an extent.   thank you.
i have met sooooo many great and interesting people in cockpit building.  it's the interactivity and contacts that drive me.     so, realistically, the most important people out there is you.
thanks for that........

trev wrote..... 'The only guy I know that can do emergency procedures in cat III conditions, and not spill a drop of Beer! '  he forgot to add 'blindfolded'  ;D
and mike must have spent hours looking for an incriminating picture  ;D

and our house is 'open house' .  always willing to share my beer with visitors (now there's a nice guy). and i don't understand why trev goes on about warm beer, i got a beer fridge  ;D

thanks again chaps and have a great day  ;D

Hey! Some of us like beer at the temp it's supposed to be drunk at. As long as it's not American Pisswater that American people insist on drinking at a temperture just warm enough to get it out of the CAN.  CAN CAN CAN. :P

You know who you are!

You are still considered the "Worlds Most Interesting Simulator Man"   :idiot:

LOL Ian, My apologies for forgetting the Blindfolded part.  You are 100% right.

It was my impression that English Boys liked their Beer at room temperature..  (EWWWW) Yuk!  I thought maybe you just used your Beer fridge to keep the Soda's Cold :)

I do agree with Mike, you are Most interesting indeed :)

I echo all of the above.   Without Ian's yoke/column design I would still be sitting staring at a PVC tube and my beautiful 737 yoke wondering how to get the two together.   When I asked, Ian immediately provided the details I needed and now I saved thousands of dollars.    Just want to personally thank you again Ian.   Hopefully you saw the results in my previously posted thread.  Love your site too!

Scott
