Title: I'm New
Post by: NZ_Pilot on November 17, 2013, 03:41:40 PM
Hi Everyone

I'm new here and i am also new to cockpit building however i have always wanted to build one which is what has lead me to this site.

I am in the early stages of building a Piper PA34-200T Seneca II and before anyone asks, i have a number of reasons for this specific aircraft...

I do have some starting out questions though, and i know there is no correct answer to this question but, where do i start?   I plan to begin with the frame of the cockpit, instrument panel and primary flight controls... is this a good place to start?

Also, my cockpit dimensions are not completely accurate, does anyone know where i can find information on the Seneca II besides purchasing the aircraft service manual?

Many thanks in advance

Hi Adam. No matter what aircraft you are working on the basics are the same. Have a search of this forum and the "where to start" will be the same no matter what the aircraft. Get yourself setup with a main instrument panel and go from there. Build around it. Cause if you start with the shell I think you will cause yourself more grief.

Best regards.
