My 737 sim has Opencockpits panels/cards. My MCP/EFIS are FDS. Any reason why I can't plug the 5-volt FDS backlight cord into the OC dimmer card and have it dim the lights via the same mechanism as the rest of the 5V panels?

probably because you have leds on one side and bulbs on the other ?
