Thanks ame for replying.
Let  me better explain what i have.
The stepper motor (Nema 17 42-34) driven from a A4988 module which in turn is controlled by a Arduino Pro Micro.
I bought the files from Cults3d site and all got was the stl files,Sketch and Python script. No instructions so had to trawl the net to find out how to run the script.I dont know anything about Arduino programimg or Python,i was expecting better docs.
I think the Python connects thru a special python simmconnect which had to be installed so it could communicate with MSFS.
If used with the A320 in MSFS it works and tracks the Fsim trim wheel.
It was during my testing i decided to do the following test.
I placed Fsim trim wheel at one end and my Throttle at the opposite end. When i started the script the stepper would go for about 1 sec and would pause for a second then repeat the cycle 3 to 4 times then would continue on till just before the desired point it would pause then finally reach its destination.
If its going to be a hassle then its not worth its as it appears to do what i want under normal conditions.Just trying to work out if there was something wrong with script.
The hardware is built and thats from observation. Here is the link but it adds very little

Well, it's certainly poorly documented code. Can you post a link to where you got it from?

Does it have an input and an output function in your specific setup? i.e. is the Arduino driving the stepper motor (output) and collecting data from some other attached hardware (input).

Have you actually built the hardware (so you can observe the conditions you mentioned), or have you only got the software set up and you are just observing messages going to and from the various parts (flight sim, Python script, Arduino code)?

I have been experimenting with laser ablation of paint for panel decals.

I read everything I could, then had a go. The photo shows 3mm MDF painted with several layers of cheap white spray paint, two layers of clear lacquer, and two layers of quality top paint (Rust-oleum Satin Granite).

I used a 10W LED laser in raster mode at about 3000mm/min and 30% power. I still have to do more experiments, but those are the settings that gave reasonable results.

Obviously it doesn't work for backlit panels, although I think you could replace the MDF with opal acrylic.

I didn't take a huge amount of care, but it worked well. I'll see if I can replicate the results with a similar lack of care later.

Using the laser in this way also ensures alignment between the decal and the cuts, because they are done without removing the workpiece from the laser cutter. Although now I'll have to figure out how to paint the edges without overspraying the decal again.

Need some help with this setup.Took the design off the net but the operation isnt as expected. The problem is that it starts but want to pause then start agin a couple of times then it will run till it matches the trim in MSFS.
It uses a stepper, there is no binding.
It has a Arduino sketch and a Python script to i/f it to Fsim.
I have attached the two files and hope someone can help.Tried to contact the developer but no luck.
Thanks

Thanks for the tip. Main LCD is mounted a little higher than usual as I'm planning to change it for a little bigger (maybe 28", now is 19"), because this one has damaged screen. It was gifted to me from a friend and I used it in my small simpit. To lower LCD I'll need to change frame for it and also cut some part from simpit as it'll be blocking bigger screen from fitting in place.

Hi guys.
To my old friends, no I'm not a goner, still kicking!!
I finally was able to dig my password and login.

I recently had to re install all software and upgrade some hardware in my 737NG sim. Lots of pain. Incredible how one forgets details.

The pain started on reinstalling Windows 7, YES, Windows 7, call me archaic or whatever but I refuse to bow to MS telemetry and painful updates. I only use Windows for my sim, for everything else, Linux.

After installing the OS, installation of P3D v4.5.1 failed, oh horror. It turned out that .NET 7.4.2 failed  repeatedly with an error of failure to authenticate (I could install it without sweat of my previous W7 SP1 installation) Multiple searches on Google and DucDuckGo yielded no solutions until I tried searching on Yandex. The issue was that SP1 uses SHA1 authentication and .NET uses SHA2 authentication. SHA2 was installed through Windows updates in the past, not anymore. So, I had to download the update manually.

I decided to install as little addons as possible. Only P3d v4 compatible airports for stability. My previous system had all sorts of garbage that caused unknown failures. Then Orbx changed everything and they did not even have my previous credentials, which meant that all my previous investment went up in a puff. So no AiTraffic or any kind of external traffic. P3D was snap since it does not depend on the registry, just copy the folder and voila. The reprogram Flight Illusion and some lights and switches since again, the Windows USB stack is a mess.

I do not know about the pains of Win11 for this type of setup but the way things are going, everything needs access to the net in order to work, or registration of your data which again, will be for sale.

I don't know what will happen with the next Windows iteration. They are always full of surprises.

In the meantime, I continue to enjoy my sim under Win7, and is solid stable now.

Warmest regards to all

Thanks!.
Yes. I am going to release a manual for hardware building, and another one for system setup.

I have finished the remote display version. So you can mount the gauge in the panel and easily change force feedback parameters on the fly.

May be it is due to the picture but your outside view monitor is too high. You will have to look up instead of straight ahead.
The horizon line on the screen should be level with your eyes.
IMHO  :D

Some steps forward were made. Very slowly I'm closer to final design. Still everything's raw without painting.
Saitek Switch Panel is only clamped to my simpit. Maybe I'll change it to custom made switches...
Between Multi Panel and Switch Panel is empty space for another 10" LCD screen.
