Might be a help to someone else out there, but it looks like Wideview will happily drive a GPS over a network. I'd been using Project Tupolev's superb KLN90B in FS2004, which is the only GPS I've seen which can be kept up to date with Navigraph data, has SID/STAR data, is pretty complete and best of all is free. But it won't work in FSX  :'(. Having switched entirely to FSX a year ago I was about to give up and buy a second-rate payware version running off the default FSX database but this afternoon decided to give Wideview a try. Hey presto the FS2004 GPS works perfectly with full functionality as long as the FS2004 client Wideview's not paused or in Slew mode - I don't need the external view from FS2004 so with an 8-year old PC lying around it's a great solution.  :)

Cheers
Jon
