Title: Raptor Fastenings
Post by: Jimboflight on December 15, 2012, 05:59:57 PM
Have read a number of post from those who built wood cockpit shells and believe they used metal screws for support.  This might lead to extra work to fill in screw recessed areas or with sanding.  Glen L Marine sells what they call their Raptor Fastenings. 16 finishing or 18ga brad nails along with 19ga staples.  These are non metallic and can be sanded.  They also take stain or paints.  Their link:  http://www.boatdesigns.com/Raptorreg-Fastenings-Tools/products/926/ (http://www.boatdesigns.com/Raptorreg-Fastenings-Tools/products/926/)

Not a big deal but might help save time and effort. :)
