Title: Help with flight goals
Post by: fsaviator on August 01, 2021, 11:14:42 AM
I'm looking for some advice.  I'm tired of chasing ATC and just loading up the plane, dispatching it, and flying from point A to point B.  I don't want the structure of a VA, and I don't care to build and maintain an airline.

Can someone recommend an add-on that will give me my callsign and airline, routing and load plan, between two locations, and maybe even give weather and time of day parameters.  Maybe it can even communicate with my sim via ACARS to dispatch and log the flight.

My memory isn't what it used to be, and these long breaks between simming as I move around the world don't help - but I'm fairly certain this exists.  I may even already own it.

Any ideas to help me spice up my flying?

Hey Warren!

Maybe you're looking for something like A Pilots' Life? In conjunction with POSCON or other ATC networks, that might be what you're looking for.

Hi Warren,

Have you considered PilotEdge?  They have expanded their regions, and have added more Controllers.  It's a reasonably priced subscription that offers a realistic ATC environment.

Never heard of that....  I'll check it out.  THanks.  I just checked out APL... Wow - exactly what I was looking for.  There is a career piece to it, but I can fly whatever plane I want so not an issue.  That's the tough part of these career add-ons - When you have a 737 in the basement it does no good to start your career in a Dash 80 or Fokker.

Thanks!

I have Mike.  I'm having issues with my VPN working from over in Europe.  It really just covers the ATC part of the problem though.  Still looking for the rest of the "package". Thanks

Don't think I can help you. You seem to be asking a lot

But when I needed a 'purpose' to fly, oh, way back in 2000 or so, I set up Emmafield Flying Club.
A few years later we published FSCargo (for FS2004, now defunct).

Over the past years I have been using AirHauler which provides me with something to 'achieve' when I want to.

With the new MSFS20 I am just flying around freely over all the places I have visited in real life over the past 60 odd years.....
