Title: WORLDFLIGHT 2015: Making a Difference
Post by: Trevor Hale on November 04, 2015, 01:10:01 PM
$3,365.00 USD
Hi Guys,  Were just a little over half way through Worldflight 2015.  I personally would like to share the fact we are over our $3,000.00 total from last year and are working towards our $5,000.00 USD Goal For the All Childrens Hospital in Sarasota, FL.  I would like to ask you to keep those donations coming in, and help us meet our Goal.

Attached is a picture of a few of our pilots, we have had a great turn out, unfortunately due to our scheduling some of the guys were missed in the picture.  Some of have to sleep, and some of us had not arrived yet.  Either way we will all sign the ACH Signs, so none of us are missed.

Thanks to all of the pilots and friends who have donated to help our cause and put a smile on some of the kids at the All Childrens Hospital.

Sitting here watching the guys finish the final landing and taxiing to the gate to end another year for World Flight, and all that I can say is thank you for going to Sam's. You truly are making a real difference for the All Children's Hospital.

Here is a screen shot of the cockpit right after Trevor, Kyle (I believe), and Sam left the flight deck. I screen captured this photo too close out my view of seeing WF2015 from another place in the world...

Best Regards,

John

What a great event. Thanks for watching.

Thanks John,  it was  a total success,  the simulator behaved like never before, I believe we only rebooted the computers 3 or 4 times the whole week total, amazing how it hold up hours after hours without an incident, no disconnects,  very happy!

The motion platform was used like never before for take off and landings during daylight hours,  thank you Marnix,  Xavier and crew for your support.

We will like to congratulate the Australian teams for their guidance and friendship also.

Want to thanks everybody and participating teams again for your support.

Cheers.

All

I'm back at TPA checked in for the cockpit JS TPA-CLT-MEM on AA.

If anyone passes thru MEM, you all have a place to crash.

Thanks to Sam and Laura for opening their home for us to bang around for a week.  It was my pleasure to fly with all of you this past week.

See you all next year; are we there yet?

Hi Doug.

It was awesome meeting you. Adding you to our team was a big bonus. Not only are you a comedian, your knowledge of operations is second to none.

I was sad to see you go. I wish I had had the opportunity to say goodbye but I was likely sleeping. If I ever go "Walking in Memphis". I would like to look you up.

Learning about your life and your family was an honor.

I have met so many new people this year I am already looking forward to next.

Hope you all can join us again.

All:

Just wanted to post the Final Numbers....  Our Final Total for Worldflight Team USA 2015 was $3,365.00 USD.  Wow, Thats a wonderful number and I am so proud of everyone who took part.  Thank you for your donations and Thanks you for your support.  The All Children's Hospital in St Petersburg Florida really needs the assistance to help families going through rough situations with their children.

I am proud to be a part of Worldflight.

Do any of you US world flight guys happen to have any external video footage of the Sim in motion - assuming Sam is happy to share.  I would love to see it operating in all its glory :)

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Robert, I don't mind sharing videos of my platform, the problem is that we don't have that many videos of it, most of the time when is running is way to dark inside the room and makes it difficult to film, if we bring a light in it interferes with the projected images, but there are couple of them on my YouTube account, here are the links.

Thanks Sam, it is truly spectacular.

It seems it doesn't matter where you get to in this hobby, there is always someone doing something bigger or better :)
We are currently working on projects for control loading systems and a curved display using projectors (both of which are pretty exciting but particularly the control loading) but I think motion is still the holy grail.

Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob,

You are absolutely right there is always better out there that we wish we had or want to have, CONTROL LOADING YOU SAID? WOW! see that's exactly what I mean, always something better! count me in, that's my next addition depending on price and availability.

Cheers!
Sam

i am planning to keep a video diary of the control loading project so will post updates as we progress, as long as all goes to plan anyway :)

I have been busily buying parts over the last couple of months and the first round of the project starts over the Christmas period so hopefully some updates before too long.

i purchased some new linked yokes from here http://www.737yokes4yoursim.com (http://www.737yokes4yoursim.com) which is what we are planning to add the CL to, this way I don't need to impact on the usability of the simulator during the build.

Cheers,
Rob
