Hi all,
I have just made a couple of map lights to go with my newly acquired eyebrow trims. I bought a pair of $9 LED flashlights and basically cut them in half! I made a gimbal bracket so they can be aimed anywhere when they are mounted. I soldered wires to the battery contact tabs and fitted a simple connector block for the 3Vdc power supply. The torch button still works and they look close enough, a cheap solution!

Gwyn,
That is a great piece of work.  Simple and elegant.  You have Inspired me to make my own.

Good idea Gwyn
I used some also for the side map. ($3)
I feed them 5v from the OVH PSU with a resistor.

Nice work on the Map Lights Gwyn!  I always am inspired by your innovation.

Have you done anything similar for the light on the upper part of the Fowward Overhead, which illuminates the Pedastal area?

For the OVH I used the head of a small desk light.

I've built the' map lights' with parts of plumbing, a lamp holder and a LED lamp.

To give an another idea ... ;)
